Heyman Talks Deathly Hallows & John Williams

Posted by Dijares On July - 14 - 2009

david-heyman3Harry Potter producer attended a Q&A session at an Apple store in Los Angeles yesterday. While there, he answered some questions, including some about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the actors, and more.

SnitchSeeker asked them if Jade, Tom Felton’s (Draco Malfoy) girlfriend, would have the chance to play the part of Draco’s wife in Deathly Hallows.

SnitchSeeker.com: Tom Felton mentioned his girlfriend Jade might play his wife in the epilogue. Did you cast her or the children of the trio yet?
David Heyman: I have no idea, no. Unfortunately we haven’t yet cast that section. He may WANT to cast his girlfriend.
SnitchSeeker: Yes.
Heyman: He does?
SnitchSeeker: He REALLY does.
Heyman: Okay, good. Well, I’ll keep that in mind … Nobody’s been cast yet for that part.

He said some of the older actors won’t get more screen time for the last film as much of the filming is done on the road.

He also gave more of a description of what will be in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Universal Studios, Orlando. He said there will be a Hogwarts Express that will lead people into the park. There will be Hogsmeade covered in snow with shops and restaurants, and the area will include three rides.

Some extras that the special collector’s editions of the Harry Potter DVDs will include audition tapes of Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Hermione Granger (in Sorcerer’s Stone).  He’s also thinking of including Evanna Lynch’s (Luna Lovegood) audition tape as well in Order of the Phoenix, and Jessie Cave’s (Lavender brown) screen test with Rupert Grint for Half-Blood Prince.

He also stated that he has spoken with the original soundtrack composer John Williams about coming back to score Deathly Hallows. He said that Mr. Williams would be back if schedules permit – but it’s a big IF.

RA (Richard Alexander)
DH (David Heyman)
RA: Hi, First I want to say thank you for your amazing work.
DH: Thank You.
RA: In a recent interview John Williams said that he would love to come back and bring his musical storytelling “full circle”. Will he come back for Deathly Hallows?
DH: The question is will John Williams come back? I’m a huge fan of John Williams he did three of the scores and I think he is amazing. He came up with some of the themes that have carried on. We have talked to John Williams and a lot of it will depend on his schedule for [Harry Potter] seven part two. If we can make work , and that’s a big if, for his schedule and ours then yes.
RA: Great, thanks.
