We previously reported on Bill Nighy’s confirmation that he will be playing “Rufus Scrimgeour” in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Also, we mentioned his interview with SciFi about his role as the new Prime Minister in the Ministry of Magic. While promoting his latest film, the animated guinea pig adventure story, G-Force, Mr. Nighy admitted to MTV in a video interview:
“I was beginning to settle on the idea that I would be the only English actor of a certain age who wasn’t in ‘Harry Potter,’”
He also admitted he had not read the books and would need to take a “crash course” in the world of Harry Potter.
Perhaps Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), who starred with the actor “of a certain age” in Wild Target, will give him a lot of pointers.
