Video: HBP Cast & Yates With Made In Hollywood

Posted by Lilysowl On August - 31 - 2009

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceDuring the press junket in New York for the Half-Blood Prince premiere last month, Made In Hollywood had the opportunity to interview the director David Yates and the cast which has now appeared online.  Some different questions were asked, although the usual subject of romance was mentioned.

Tom Felton comments on Draco Malfoy’s transition to “the man of the manor”.  Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) mentions how he still has fun with the films as a reward for the hard work they put into them.  Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) agree that the romance development between their characters is a bit odd for them.  Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) says she enjoyed the challenge of a one-on-one scene compared to a Great Hall scene.  Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) briefly comments on the Hogwarts headmaster nudging Harry into manhood with the tasks he has given the boy wizard to do.  David Yates (director) talks about how he liked the opportunity Half-Blood Prince gave him to bring out the light of romance in the midst of the darkness surrounding the wizarding world.

A lot of  behind-the-scenes footage was included in the interview.

Bonnie Wright: 7 Questions From Starworks

Posted by Lilysowl On August - 31 - 2009

Bonnie WrightStarworks asked Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films) seven questions while she was promoting Half-Blood Prince last month.  Here is an excerpt from the interview:

3. What is the one book that changed your life?
I was at that age when you see books as as a real sort of problem and you cant be bothered to read them because you’ve only been told by your teachers… but then I read The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald. That is sort of when I started to enjoy reading.

4. When did you feel most broke (penniless)?
Probably when I was really young, saving up for petty things like a magazine or sweets, counting the pennies rather than pounds.

5. What was the most important thing you lost?
God, I used to always be losing things when I was younger like my my mobile phone, then I began borrowing my moms hand bags and loosing those. I think I learned a lesson after my parents started hating me [for that], so I’ve really decided to cling hold of everything I have. I haven’t lost anything for quite a while!

Dan Radcliffe Receives First Filming Injury

Posted by Dijares On August - 31 - 2009

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsDan Radcliffe experienced his first injury while filming the Harry Potter films.  Recenlty he spoke to One magazine and told them that he received a black eye while filming a scene for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Have you ever been injured on the Harry Potter set ?
“So far, I never had anything too serious happen, except a few scratches. But I’m happy because during the last film, Deathly Hallows, I finally got a big black eye [laughs]. I was shooting a scene where Harry fights a giant snake. It is well known that the Harry Potter films are huge productions so instead of a snake in front of me, our lead stunt man had a long stick at the end that had a boxing glove attached to it. I was taken by surprise and I got a good blow to the face that knocked me! I saw the scene in slow motion then, and it looks like I’m spread out like a real boxer. It had a lot of class [laughs].”

We may assume that this scene is in Godric’s Hallow when Harry fights Nagini who was posing as Bathilda Bagshot.

Thanks to HarryPotterForever for letting us know.

Rowling & Coltrane Give a Hand to Help Tilly

Posted by Dijares On August - 28 - 2009

J.K. RowlingJ.K. Rowling and Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid in the Harry Potter films) have donated signed drawings of their hands (embellished, of course) to help out  3 year old Tilly Lockey.  Tilly, who’s from Country Durham, lost her hands and toes to meningitis when she was just 15 months old.  She has prosthetic hands, but they must be replaced at least once a year to keep up with her growth.  So, the donated hand drawings will help to raise money for Tilly’s prosthetics.  Newcastle’s Life Center will show the more than 100 drawings/photos donated by stars for free before they’re auctioned off next month.

You can see Jo and Robbie’s drawings (along with the rest of the donated items) here!

DH: Unconfirmed Spoiler & Davis Confirms Griphook Role

Posted by Lilysowl On August - 27 - 2009

Warwick DavisWe previously reported that Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) obtained a Twitter account.  One of his recent tweets was a confirmation that he is playing the role of Griphook the goblin in Deathly Hallows.

Sorry to mess you all about. Yes, I am indeed playing ‘Griphook’. Let’s just keep that between ourselves though.

If you’ll recall, he also told Dijares that he was had the roles of both Griphook and Flitwick while on the red carpet at the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince New York City premiere.  You can see the interview here.

He was not the only Harry Potter star to make a recent tweet about Deathly Hallows.  Oliver Phelps, who portrays George Weasley, tweeted proudly

Wicked days filming today. I can say I am the first actor in the UK to have a VFX MOVA facial capture scan. Exciting technology…

Right then MOVA is a system where by using 29 cameras and UV makeup and lighting can get very detailed motions of ones face.

There are unconfirmed reports that this technique is being used for the seven Potters scene.  Supposedly, all the actors, whose characters become Harry Potter, will undergo a similar scan.  This will create molds of faces as their features transform into a resemblance of the boy wizard after they drink the polyjuice potion.

Thanks to TLC
