Dan Goes to Wedding & Gets Driving Lessons

Posted by Dijares On September - 29 - 2009

Dan RadcliffeDan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) is currently on hiatus from filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t keeping busy. He’s in Poole (England) taking driving lessons, as the area is much less congested than London, which is where he lives.  While in Poole, he also dropped in unexpectedly Harbour Heights Hotel.

The guests had many positive things to say about him.

Musician Stuart Darling, 24, performing with the band The Usual Suspects at the event, said:

“He seemed very happy and comfortable having photos taken and signing autographs. He was a thoroughly nice chap.

“I just had a quick chat and he said he was down from London taking some driving lessons where it was quieter, and seeing a friend.”

He added: “I presume he was on his own – I didn’t see anyone with him. He was probably a bit lonely and came out to socialise.”

He said the wedding party were “quite happy to have him there”.

“As you do at weddings they were dragging people up to dance and he was one of them,” added Stuart.

You can see some photos of him at the wedding reception here and here.

Posted by Lilysowl On September - 27 - 2009

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceWe previously reported on the appearance of Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) in London for the release 1,000 black balloons to help promote the pre-orders of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince DVD.  A new video interview with the Harry Potter stars is now online.  They mention that one of the tickets attached to the balloons may be the one to win a visit to the set of Deathly Hallows.  The winner may also be in a portrait which will hang in Hogwarts.

Lewis said he received his script for Deathly Hallows II and will be filming again in October.  Also, he said he has heard good things from Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) as filming progresses, but he won’t reveal where the split between Deathly Hallows I & II is.  He and Lynch discuss how they feel about being close to the end of the Harry Potter series and the “pivotal parts” their characters play in the seventh story.

J.K. Rowling Now on Twitter

Posted by Dijares On September - 25 - 2009

J.K. RowlingBecause some people were pretending to be Potter author J.K. Rowling on Twitter, the real J.K. Rowling decided to get her own account.  So far, she’s made three tweets, but, as many of you know, she prefers to write on paper, so it’s possible we may not hear from her much.

I am told that people have been twittering on my behalf, so I thought a brief visit was in order just to prevent any more confusion!

However, I should flag up now that although I could twitter endlessly, I’m afraid you won’t be hearing from me very often……….

………….as pen and paper is my priority at the moment

One must wonder what she’s writing with that pen and paper…. What do you think? Share your thoughts in our comments or in our discussion hall.
