It’s Harry Potter’s Desk for January 2010′s Calendar

Posted by Dijares On December - 31 - 2009

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceWe’ve now been doing the desktop calendars for over three years, and I have to say that this month’s has to be the best yet. Crmhpfan has truly outdone herself. She made much of what you’ll see on this calendar from scratch. She calls it’Harry’s Desk’ and says the time frame is sometime just past the Hogwarts Battle. There are many details that I know you’ll enjoy on this one!

After clicking on the size that you want, right click on the calendar, and click ’set as background’ for IE, or ’set as desktop desktop background’ for Firefox.

Happy New Year!

Posted by Dijares On December - 31 - 2009

Harry Potter's PageThis past year has been quite a roller coaster for many people. Hopefully 2010 will bring us smoother rides.  2010 will also bring us more Harry Potter goodies.  In the Spring, we’ll see the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, Florida.  Then November brings us the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. So, an exciting year!

For Harry Potter’s Page, these past few months have been a little rough. For those of you who’ve been keeping track, I moved this past summer to the city I was brought up in (Las Vegas). The change wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I’ve lived with my brother since the move in an area that made it difficult to keep up with posting news and doing my much loved Potter fun.  However, as of last night, we’re all finally in a much roomier house (hooray!), so things should start to get back on track. :)

Also, for those of you who have been with us for sometime, you may recall that one of our newsposters, Aragorn (yes, that’s his real name) went on his mission.  He’ll be returning in May and I can tell you he’s very excited to be back in the Potter community once again.

Again, I hope you all have smooth rides in 2010. May your dreams come true, your health stay strong, and your pockets full.

Video: Rupert & Emma Discuss Reading Potter Books

Posted by Dijares On December - 29 - 2009

Emma Watson and Rupert GrintWarner Bros released a video that I spoke of during my review of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Ultimate Edition. The video shows Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) on the set of Deathly Hallows discussing reading the books. Rupert admits that he real the last book a bit late, and Emma correct him by saying he was the last person in the world to read it.

Also, the email that included this video stated that their Harry Potter Twitter site will start to give away Half-Blood Prince posters soon, so make sure to follow them on Twitter!

Update on Dan Radcliffe Musical

Posted by Dijares On December - 22 - 2009

Dan RadcliffeWe previously told you that Dan Radcliffe was looking at doing the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He was scheduled to go to New York City this month to do a read through of the script.  Broadway World are reporting that the read through took place yesterday, December 21st. The report states that the read through was more of a test run and not really considered an audition. The person who made the report was very impressed with Dan.

First things first. Daniel Radcliffe was AMAZING. He interpreted the role in a charming, adorable and fresh way. He sang great. I think everyone was there to see if he could do it. And boy, he really did it. He was great. He came off as a full-fledged musical star. Those of us who saw him in Equus know he has the stage chops as a dramatic actor but now I can say that he could easily take Broadway by storm as a musical comedy star, too. After that final Harry Potter movie comes out, this guy can do whatever he wants in any medium. I loved him. And it seems to me that he is the youngest actor to play the role of Finch. And his youth made the show feel fresh and new. It had a new kind of innocence to contrast the cynicism of the world he is in.

Additionally, Michael Urie, who stars in Ugly Betty, stated he was at the reading with Dan on his Twitter.

played D.hydepierce’s nephew and Daniel Radcliffe’s nemisis in a reading of How 2 Succeed in Biz w/out rlly tryig. It was a thrill & a half!
