Our friends at Snitchseeker let us know about a video interview they did with Chris Rankin who portrays “Percy Weasley” about his filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows . It was his first opportunity to work face to face with Ralph Fiennes who is known to Harry Potter fans as “Lord Voldemort”. Spoiler Alert!
In reference to the filming, Rankin mentioned that he has not done the scene of Fred Weasley’s death yet. But there are still eight more weeks of filming for him to do. Rankin does discuss the different traits Percy has shown throughout the Harry Potter series i.e. pompous prefect to family traitor, and back to redemption (the one which he enjoyed portraying the most, according to Snitchseeker).
Rankin also talks about being with his “Weasley family” (Mark Williams as “Mr. Weasley”, Julie Walters as “Mrs. Weasley”, Rupert Grint as “Ron Weasley”, Bonnie Wright as “Ginny Weasley, James and Oliver Phelps as “Fred and George Weasley”). He praised the twins for their growth as actors and comments on the impressive change of Bonnie from a little girl to a young woman. As for his “Weasley parents”, Mark and Julie maintained a cheery atmosphere on set during the long and serious days on set.
Rankin told Snitchseeker what scenes he had enjoyed filming throughout the Harry Potter series. He mentioned how the directors (Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, and David Yates) influenced his ambitions as an actor, director, and producer and what he plans to do in the future.
Thanks to Snitchseeker for sharing this with us.
