We previously reported that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was nominated for a National Movie Award in the Family category. We are happy to now report that the film won the award plus the Special Recognition Award. Although we also mentioned that the three stars (Dan Radcliffe-Harry, Rupert Grint-Ron, and Emma Watson-Hermione) were each nominated for the Performance of the Year category, along with Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) for her Nanny McPhee role, it was Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) for his role as “Edward Cullen” in the Twilight films who won that award.
Here is the video of Emma Watson, Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), and Dan Radcliffe accepting the award in the Family category.
Here is the video of Watson, Wright, Radcliffe, director David Yates, and the producers David Heyman and David Barron accepting the Special Recognition Award.
Here is a video of an overview of the Harry Potter films that was shown at the award ceremony with a commentary by David Tennant who portrayed Barty Crouch, Jr. in Goblet of Fire but became very popular as the Tenth Doctor in the Doctor Who series. There’s even a sneak peek at Deathly Hallows!
As noted, Robert Pattinson won for Performance of the Year. Due to his filming schedule for Water for Elephants, he was not able to attend the event. So, his acceptance was broadcast via video from the set.
