Video: Felton on Draco’s Vulnerabilities

Posted by Dijares On June - 30 - 2010

Tom FeltonWhile at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) spoke with MTV about his character in the Potter films.  He said there is a portion in Deathly Hallows in which something that Draco does is really left up to interpretation. He said for this part, they did several different takes, so he’s interested in which one will be used.  He also said he did get to ask J.K. Rowling about the character, and she said that his character is actually quite vulnerable as many bullies are.

If you’ll recall, we asked during an interview with him last summer what he felt about Draco not really admitting that he knew it was Harry when Harry was brought into Malfoy Manor with a disfigured face from Hermione’s spell.  Here’s what he had to say:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I will be released on November 19, 2010.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II will be released on July 15, 2011.

Video: Warwick Davis Talks About Last Day On DH Set

Posted by Lilysowl On June - 30 - 2010

Warwick DavisDuring his time at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida  for the Grand Opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter two weeks ago, Warwick Davis (Flitwick, Griphook) spoke to MTV about his last day of filming  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this video interview.  Davis said that he is usually glad when a movie is completed and he can take off the makeup.  But the day after he completed Deathly Hallows, he felt the let down that there will be no more Harry Potter films:

“I shot my last day on ‘Harry Potter’ last Saturday. It was a very sad, very emotional day,” actor Warwick Davis told MTV News recently at the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. “I never really get upset finishing a film. I’m normally glad that it’s over, that I won’t have to wear the makeup anymore — but I was actually really quite choked up about it. Ten years’ worth of work finished, and on Sunday, it was worse. I woke up Sunday morning thinking, ‘No more Harry Potter. That’s it.’ “

“I was filming with the second unit, and then I went over to the first unit where they were doing the last shot with Dan [Radcliffe], Rupert [Grint] and Emma [Watson]. The first assistant director didn’t shout, ‘It’s a wrap.’ He didn’t say that. He said, ‘Come over to the screens over here. I have a lot of video to show you.’ He set up the video: a piece of film that they’d shot every day with what’s called the golden boards. It would be a special guest that day or an actor who was finishing up the film, or whatever. If something unusual was happening, they’d be the person holding the golden board. Twenty minutes’ worth to summarize the last year and a half that we’d been working on the movie. It was really very sad.”

Although Davis couldn’t divulge the final scene that was shot for “Deathly Hallows,” he confirmed that the last shot involved Radcliffe, Grint and Watson. “It was them, as it should be,” he said. “The three of them. I was lucky to be there for the last day. I think I was the only other castmember in on it.”

Rupert Grint To Appear On BBC’s Top Gear

Posted by Lilysowl On June - 29 - 2010

Rupert GrintHollywoodNews.com reported that Rupert Grint, known for his role as “Ron Weasley” in the Harry Potter films, will appear on the BBC television show Top Gear on July 11.  The popular UK program is a “must-see for car fanatics”.  Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May (who are the hosts of the show) discuss everything related to cars as well as the different types, such as the luxury ones to the sporty ones, and even the more unusual one.  And we definitely know who has unusual one–Mr. Grint and his Mr. Whippy Ice Cream truck.  Click here to see a photo of the truck in our photo gallery.

But Top Gear is still entertaining for viewers who are not car fanatics.  For celebrities appear on the show to compete for the chance to drive around the BBC track in one of the vehicles featured on that particular episode.  The challenges and the shared information about vehicles also make the show entertaining.

The article mentions that the episode with Grint should be fun to watch due to “his affinity for unusual vehicles”, his personality, and “his natural flair for comedy” and “his love for acting silly on television” (referring to his appearance on Comedy Relief 2009).

:) I can’t wait until that Top Gear episode comes to BBC America!

Emma Watson Mentions DH At Glastonbury Festival

Posted by Lilysowl On June - 28 - 2010

Emma WatsonWe previously reported that Emma Watson accompanied George Craig, from the band One Night Only, at the Glastonbury Festival and spoke to BBC Radio 1 about the band’s song and music video “Say You Don’t Want It”.  The actress who portrays “Hermione Granger” in the Harry Potter films also spoke to BBC’s Newsbeat.  There was talk about Watson being the queen of the festival instead of Kate Moss, but she deferred to the British supermodel:

But on reflection, Emma told Newsbeat “no way, she’s queen, I’m not, but that’s a huge compliment!”

However, there was more talk about her last days of shooting Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  She said she had to “sleep for a week” after her part was done.  And of course, she was the one who cried the most out of herself, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).

…”I’m the girl, it was obviously me wasn’t it!”

Emma says she was the first to crack after the cast and crew watched a video put together by the First Assistant Director.

“He put together a behind-the-scenes film of the last 7 years of all the crew with people saying good bye and stuff.

Emma continues, “It was just overwhelming. And to finish it off he put together the unseen trailer for the new film, and it was so epic and just looked absolutely incredible and so we were all in bits really.”
