Today a press conference was held with the designer of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Orlando. Those who attended included Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative, Creative Director Thiery Coup, Art Director Alan Gilmore, Production Designer Stuart Craig, and Producers David Barron and David Heyman. Some of the cast attended as well, including Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, Warwick Davis, Matt Lewis, James and Oliver Phelps, and Michael Gambon.

During the press conference, I asked the designers whether they intended to add anything to the park (perhaps the Shrieking Shack?). They have no plans for making any additions at this time, but we can keep our fingers crossed. Of course, what is there is absolutely amazing, so truly no complaints here.
Dan mentioned how he and Tom had gone into Ollivander’s and watched a child get her wand. He talked about the gasp of glee the child had when the wand chose her. He said that for him and Tom, this is what is so special…those small moments like this that you just want to bottle up and take home with you; that these moments were what this park was all about.
I asked the Twins, Matt, Bonnie, and Warwick if they could tell me in three words or less what they thought the first time they saw the park. Matt Lewis’ thought was, “Bloody Hell.” Warwick said, “This is magic!”
