In less than 10 days (June 30), Robert Pattinson’s latest film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released in movie theaters. Summit Entertainment kindly sent us a photo still from the film which was printed with an article about Rob Pattinson in yesterday’s (Sunday) issue of The New York Times. Click here to see the photo in our photo gallery. It is a better view of “Edward”s golden eyes.
The article mentioned the Twilight films being as successful as the Harry Potter films in terms of a franchise:
The only movie franchise that remotely compares to “Twilight” in terms of popularity and the number of films starring the same cast is “Harry Potter.” But as the “Harry Potter” stories have progressed, Daniel Radcliffe has been allowed to grow up. By his “Twilight” character’s very nature — a vampire who doesn’t age — Mr. Pattinson is largely stuck.
By portraying “Cedric Diggory” in Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix as well as headlining the Twilight films as “Edward Cullen”, Pattinson has the rare luck of an actor to be known for two successful franchises. But he isn’t the only one. Jamie Campbell Bower who was seen as “Caius” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be seen as “Grindewald” in Deathly Hallows.
The article also mentioned how Pattinson’s career evolved from Harry Potter/Twilight by starring in Remember Me, Little Ashes, and Bel Ami. Currently, he is filming Water For Elephants with Reese Witherspoon and Christopher Waltz.
