Scholastic have announced that JK Rowling will do a live global webcast on October 11th to launch their new Harry Potter Reading Club for young readers. The webcast begins at 12:00 noon ET (9:00 PT / 5:00 GMT). JK Rowling will speak to classrooms across America about the world of Harry Potter including Pottermore. This will be the first time since 2007 that she has had the opportunity to answer questions from kids live since 2007.
The Harry Potter Reading Club is an online to introduce Harry Potter to the new generation of readers. It provides educators, librarians, and after school program coordinators and parents tools to to organize their own book clubs and to host a Harry Potter Reading Club. The first 10,000 registrants for the Club will receive a welcome kit with bookmarks, stickers, and nametags.
