Update: Video: Dan Radcliffe: TCM’s Great Adaptations

Posted by Lilysowl On November - 1 - 2012

Dan Radcliffe TCM (Turner Classic Movies), a cable station on US television, has planned a special program in November to broadcast great films which have been adapted from classic novels like Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Call of the Wild by Jack London.  And who better than Daniel Radcliffe (“Harry Potter” in the film adaptations of the books about a boy wizard by J.K. Rowling) to be one of the special guests in this program, along with Dane DeHaan, Griffin Dunne, Jack Huston.  The actors will share how literary movies have affected and inspired them.

The program will be shown on most Mondays and Wednesdays throughout November in a 24 hour block programming (starting in primetime and continuing to the following day) devoted to single themes such as Southern Literature, Adventure Novels, Western Novels, American Literature, British Literature, and National Book Award Winners and Finalists.  November 21 will be an exception to the schedule when Southern Literature “gives away” to Stories for Children and Young Adults for Thanksgiving Day.

TCM’s site does not state whether or not Radcliffe will appear to make his comments during all the films or for the films in a specific category or even just one film.  But it did confirm that I was not mistaken when I saw his smiling face in a promotional clip for a program that will be seen on a station that shows old, classical films!

UPDATE: TCM just posted this promotional video of the program on their site.  The preview features many comments from Radcliffe as well as comments from the other guests.
