In the midst of all the news about the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two and about the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I found this little gem while browsing through Audible.com and coming across the US audiobook edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. According to Audible’s YouTube channel, the video interview was “published” five months ago (specifically Feb. 5, 2016), so I’m sure this may be old news to some Harry Potter/Jim Dale fans.
However, this was new to me and I couldn’t resist sharing it due to Mr. Dale’s little stories of how he “found” voices for Dobby and Professor McGonagall. The “Dobby” story is particularly funny. He also mentions his first day of recording, how J.K. Rowling was already familiar with his work and how he kept track of every voice he did for all seven books in the series.
Personally, I think the experience made him look like a wizard himself. 🙂 Hope you enjoy this as much as I did. 😉
