Pottermore announced that The Wizarding World Book Club is now accepting members! Yaayy! However, fans do need to have a Twitter account, as well as a Pottermore account, to participate in the discussions on the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. There isn’t any charge to register on either website.
With co-operation from Bloomsbury UK and Scholastic (the UK and US publishers), Pottermore launched the book club to celebrate the 20th anniversary publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The points of discussion will be a thorough break down of each book, based on different themes each week. Naturally, the first book will be discussed on the first, official themed week that starts on June 26, the date the book was published 20 years ago. The theme will be Magic and the Muggle World which will encompass the first four chapters.
Pottermore plans to cover the first book from June to July with the following themes:
Week 1: Welcome to the Wizarding World Book Club
Week 2: Magic and the Muggle World
Week 3: First Impressions
Week 4: Education
Week 5: Friendship
Week 6: Heroes and villains
After reading the chapters, fans can participate by joining the discussion on the Wizarding World Club Twitter page every Friday at 4:00 pm (UK time), starting June 23. Each Tuesday, there will be articles about different aspects of the wizarding world for fans to read.
In fact, fans can start reading the first four chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone here for a limited time.
