We had reported on Bloomsbury’s (UK publishers of the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling) new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, along with Audible’s audiobook edition narrated by Eddie Redmayne who portrayed “Newt Scamander” in the film of the same name, based on the novella that was published to benefit Comic Relief and J.K. Rowling’s international charity, Lumos.
On their official Facebook page, Scholastic (US publishers of the Harry Potter novels) shared the cover for their new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which will be available on November 7, 2017.
The new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has an updated foreword by Newt Scamander himself and an “unveiling” of six new beasts! We will learn “where the Thunderbird lives, what the Puffskein eats, and why shiny objects should always be kept away from the Niffler”, according to the novella’s description at the Harry Potter’s Page Amazon Store. The description also suggests that if you deprive profits for the charities benefited by purchasing this new edition, “one can only hope that passing wizards feel more charitable if they see you being attacked by a Manticore.”
Personally, I do prefer the Scholastic cover, but I already have purchased the audiobook edition and just enjoyed Eddie Redmayne’s narration of the foreword that really ties the novella to the film. I really would like to know how many prefer the Bloomsbury cover or the Scholastic cover.
