Harry Potter’s Page & Crew

Harry Potter’s Page first came to the World Wide Web in December 2001. I made the site because I wanted more information and accurate news on Harry Potter. I also wanted some way to bring the wonderful world of Harry Potter to those who love the books as much as I did. Never having any experience with web design, graphics, or HTML, it was quite a challenge, but I was persistent and prevailed. The current layout that you see is the third. When the site was first online, it was developed with Microsoft FrontPage. I now use Adobe’s Dreamweaver. I use a lot of PHP scripting, and use CuteNews for my news posting system. For graphics, I use Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks.

This website should do well in any browser, but I suggest you get . If you’re using Internet Explorer, I suggest you are upgraded to at least version 7.0.

I hope you enjoy this site, and that it brings you the information and answers you seek on all things Harry Potter!

My name is Aragorn. I’m 19 and from the United States. I’m an extreme fan of the Potter series and often quizzes friends about random minuscule details within the series like, for example, the House into which Orla Quirke was sorted. I got into the series after reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, having initially given up on the series when Philosopher’s Stone bored me too much. That said, I, as of the 23rd of March, 2008, have read Philosopher’s Stone 16 times, Chamber of Secrets 28 times, Prisoner of Azkaban 12 times, Goblet of Fire 8 times, Order of the Phoenix 11 times, Half-Blood Prince 2 times, and Deathly Hallows 5 times. I have also made a screenplay for the seventh book and plan to become a professional screenwriter.

My name is Kimberley and I’ll be 18 in July, 1008. I live in Ontario, Canada. I have been completely in love with Harry Potter since I was in the 6th grade, and I will be in love with it until the day I die. I started reading the books and fell in love with them because they gave me a way to escape my life. If I could read Harry’s problems with Draco in his world, then I could escape mine, even if it were for hours at a time. That is still part of the reason why I turn to books so much. My favorite characters are Lupin and Tonks. My favorite book of the series is Order of the Pheonix, but Goblet of Fire is my favorite movie (although I’m biased because of Robert Pattinson).
I am going to University in the fall (2008) to become a professional writer. I have been half way through writing a YA novel for a year now (I better get on that if I want to be famous before I’m 21).

Like Dijares, I am an older fan of Harry Potter. And like Dijares, I live in Florida. My “spoiled children” are my cat and my roommate’s toy poodle. As “lilysowl”, I enjoy flying through the internet to find news and information about the world of Harry Potter books and movies. I like the opportunity to use that information for the polls.

I also enjoy using the internet as a virtual library for my other interests like theater and listening to old radio shows. Besides surfing the internet, I love using my computer to watch movies, especially old ones, and to write. I was born in Santa Ana, California, and am currently in Florida. I’m a huge fan of Harry Potter, in fact I think my family secretly wishes I never heard of it. I’m also known as the encyclopedia  of useless information regarding Harry Potter & Star Wars. I collect anything from the series and both of my rooms look like they belong in the films or I broke into the prop rooms and took everything. I  became a fan after seeing Chamber of Secrets, while I was going through a tough time in my life, but reading the books got me through it. Harry’s magical world became my magical world. These books will always be a part of my life.

As for some tidbits about me, well here they are:

Hobbies: Reading, writing, listening to music, soccer, collecting shot glasses & HP memorabilia, hanging with my family, playing video games and going on evening  walks with my baby (a golden named, Nana)

Favorite Book: gosh, that’s a tough one, but here it goes. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows & The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe.

Favorite Music: Indie rock (Tegan & Sara, Silversun Pickup, Sick of Sarah, Patrick Watson, Flogging Molly, Beirut, Uh Huh Her, L.P., Sparklehorse & The National). I should stop now before I fill the whole page with favorites

Favorite Movies: Again this might be a long list.  All of the Harry Potter films, The Original Star Wars trilogy, East of Edan, Giant, Rebel Without A Cause, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (or should I say almost anything Johnny Depp has made as well as Tim Burton’s films) Stand by Me, Goodfellas, A River Ran Through It, Tombstone, Robin Hood (cartoon), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mean Girls, The Goonies and that’s just to name a few.

Favorite TV Shows: Golden Girls, Gilmore Girls, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, Burn Notice, Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock ,Cheers and Friends.

Favorite Foods : Anything my mom cooks, I’m a bit picky, but not too much.
