The Telegraph recently did an interview with Harry Potter film production designer Stuart Craig about his experiences with filming the movies.  The article includes the first drawing J.K. Rowling did of the Hogwarts’ grounds, props, and more.  When asked if he’s ever cried from one of the scenes, he admitted to having recently cried during the Snape death scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The last time I cried was a few days ago when we filmed the death of Alan Rickman’s character, Snape.  It’s quite difficult to cry in rushes – where we watch the previous day’s work – but he is such an extraordinary actor and he dies and extremely good death.

Since Valentine’s Day is approaching this Sunday, February 14, The Times posted a preview of love poems recorded by popular celebrities which can be sent as a gift to your valentine.  Among the celebrities were Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Alan Rickman(Professor Snape), and Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart), and Stephen Fry who narrated the UK audiobook editions of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.

J.K. Rowling’s website has been updated with a birthday wish to the sneakiest of them all: Severus Snape.  And for those who have this month’s desktop calendar (called Harry’s Desk), you’ll notice that Snape’s initials are placed on this date…as are another pair of initials later on this month.

Alan Rickman, who portrays Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films, answered some questions this past Monday while at the Hudson Union Society.  Mr. Rickman doesn’t speak of his work with the Potter films very often, so this is a rarity indeed! He’s asked about what attracted him to the films, speaks about J.K. Rowling, the directors, how the Dan, Emma, and Rupert have grown, and more!  You can see him answering the questions in the following three videos (thanks much to SnitchSeeker for sharing!):
