Earlier this year, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) filmed a series pilot for CBS-TV. The show’s title is Super Clyde. It is about young man who receives the opportunity to do heroic deeds, motivated by his love of comic books about super heroes. Stephen Fry, who narrated the Harry Potter UK audiobooks, starred with Grint in this show. As a butler, Fry was able to keep his British accent whereas Grint had to do a splendid American accent of his own. That made it easy to separate him from his portrayal of “Ron Weasley”, in spite of the similar humor between the two characters.
Unfortunately, CBS-TV decided not to pick up the show, at least for the Fall season. However, the network has made it possible for us Rupert Grint and Stephen Fry fans to view the program on its website. If we are able to rally enough viewers, perhaps CBS-TV will reconsider the show and air it for national broadcast on television.

I have watched it. The humor does lean towards that British oddball style of humor, but it does have some good laugh aloud moments due to the slapstick, like Clyde being chased by three women late at night. Naturally, I’m not going to say why he was: 1) Our webmistress would be upset with me if I revealed a spoiler. 2) You have to watch the show!
All I will say is that it is a shame that CBS-TV chose not to broadcast this show. It was fun to watch and definitely a feel-good story compared to some of the shows the network did choose. I loved it.
