Rupert Grint: Butterfly Artwork To Benefit Hospice

Posted by Lilysowl On February - 16 - 2010

Rupert GrintDuring breaks from filming the Harry Potter series as “Ron Weasley”, Rupert Grint has been known to draw and paint.  Now, he has focused his talent to paint an artwork with a butterfly theme for Keech Hospice Care’s The Chrysalis Collection which is a collection of “butterfly inspired” art by well-known celebrities.  The theme for the special group of paintings was created to represent the beauty of all lives, no matter how short their term may be.

The Chrysalis Collection will be displayed at Stockwood Discovery Centre in Luton from March 1-29.  Then, the artwork will be auctioned on Ebay from March 19 to March 28.  The proceeds will benefit the hospices in the area close to Grint’s Hertfordshire home.  It will help Keech Hospice Care to continue to supprt adult and children with terminal illnesses and their families.

Photo: Lewis & Grint Attended Football Match

Posted by Lilysowl On January - 25 - 2010

Matt LewisAs usual, Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) typed his tweets about his passion…football–no, not the weekend games we see here in the States with helmets and shoulder pads, but the football where the foot continually touches the ball which we call “soccer” here.  In fact, our webmistress was once known as a “soccer mom”.  Anyway, Lewis surprised his fans and Rupert Grint’s (Ron Weasley) fans when he tweeted a photo of himself and Grint attending the Tottenham Spurs versus Leeds United football match this past Saturday:

Mattdavelewis  Here we are, minutes before kick off @ White Hart Lane. Grint vs. Lewis. Spurs vs. Leeds. Come on Leeds!

Mattdavelewis One of the best Leeds games I’ve ever been to. Spurs 2-2 Leeds. What a match. Gonna get Rupe up to Elland Road for the replay. MOT.

Rupert Grint Talks About Holidays & Trips

Posted by Lilysowl On January - 15 - 2010

Rupert GrintWhen we say “holidays” here in the US, we think of the ones we just had like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day…or at least I do.  But when Harry Potter star Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) discusses his holidays with the Telegraph, he is referring to recent vacations and trips.  ;)  It was quite enlightening!  Here is an excerpt:

What’s been your best holiday?

We went to the Isle of Wight as a family, three summers in a row. I’m the eldest of five children, but only James, now 19, and Georgina, now 16, were around then. We had a great time as there was so much to do there. We got up to a lot of mischief, exploring the caves and beaches. Our favourite attraction was a theme park called Blackgang Chine, which was set in a Victorian mansion and its estate grounds. It had ghosts and goblins, a Wild West section and a small train ride. You couldn’t ask for a better holiday for a kid.

And the best hotel you’ve stayed in?

Each year when the cast of Harry Potter stay in New York City for press interviews and the premieres, we stay at Essex House, an Art Deco hotel right on Central Park. My room had a great view of it. The first time we stayed there was not long after 9/11, so that was really eerie. The staff get to know us well because of our repeat visits and it’s a good location for sightseeing or shopping – not that our schedules allow for much downtime. For us, the best bit about our room is obviously the minibar.

What do you need for a perfect holiday?

Being ginger and pale-skinned, I don’t really get a tan, so sitting on the beach doesn’t do it for me. I like activity-based holidays where I’m not going to fry, which is why I’ve really got into rally car driving – my brother James is an aspiring driver. I recently went on holiday to Blackpool with Oliver Phelps, who plays one of the Weasley twins. We both play golf – I’ve got a handicap of 13, which is not bad – and there’s a really good golf course in the area. I think it was quite surreal for people to see two Harry Potter actors walking down the promenade – they kept stopping dead in their tracks to do a double take.

What do you always take with you?

I can’t live without my iPhone – it comes everywhere with me. It’s got so many applications on it it practically runs my life. And a couple of my favourite T-shirts. Apart from that, I’m a pretty light traveller.

Update2: Total Film to Turn Rupert Into Napoleon Dynamite

Posted by Dijares On December - 17 - 2009

Rupert GrintAt the request of our favorite ginger actor, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films), the next issue of Total Film will feature him as the character Napoleon Dynamite from the film of the same name. He is apparently a big fan of the popular film, stating, “I was obsessed when it came out. I had the T-shirt and everything.”

Additionally, the same issue will have 10 different covers, in what they call The Issue of the Decade, ten epic covers, one issue to bind them all. Dan Radcliffe as Harry Potter from Goblet of Fire will be one of those epic covers.

UPDATE: We now have a scan of Rupert as Napoleon Dynamite (thanks to ICM).  Check it out here!
