Now that Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has returned from Berlin, Germany where he did some filming for The Apparition, there is some online supposition that he may be being prepped for the filming of the epilogue in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II, thanks to a couple of his tweets here and here:
TomFeltonJust had my body cast in plaster. Very odd feeling! So nice when it comes off! Will be the last time I do that for HP. Quite sad really x
TomFeltonBack at hogwarts getting a head cast. You guess what for x
Tom Felton, who portrays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, recently spoke with MTV about his role in Apparition, which we previously told you about. He also talked about Draco and Harry’s relationship in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
When speaking about his new role in Apparition, he called it a dream role. He begins filming very soon in Berlin and then Los Angeles, and then in about a month’s time he heads back to Leavesden for more Potter filming.
While he’ll return to Potterville in about a month — and is far from turning his back on the franchise that made him a star — Felton told MTV News that he’s grateful for the opportunity to step into a fresh character, one he called “a dream role.”
“It’s a world away from Hogwarts for me,” the 22-year-old British actor said. “A world away from Draco. It’s a real step outside what I’m used to and what I’ve been doing for the last 10 years.”
“Without revealing too much, the obvious difference is going to be physical appearance,” he said. “Draco has an iconic look with his pale skin, blond hair and rather sharp dress. It’s a completely flip side in ['Apparition']. Expect not to recognize me. I can say that my hair is no longer blond for this. I’m probably going to get in trouble for saying that. No more blond hair for me, so I’m excited about that.”
“As far as my character goes, obviously he’s not an evil, jealous wizard,” Felton laughed. “He’s a college student, a very intelligent, confident young man who’s really excited about what he’s getting himself into. At the same time, he has no idea what he’s getting himself into. This character has such a wide range in one movie. He starts off as a real go-getter, and as the story goes on, you really see him turn.”
He later spoke to them about Deathly Hallows and the ‘weird hate/love’ relationship between Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter.
Felton told MTV News from across the pond, Malfoy undergoes changes in J.K. Rowling’s final boy-wizard book that reveal previously unseen layers within him and which present a welcome challenge as an actor.
“It was one of the things I was really looking forward to with ‘Deathly Hallows,’ ” he said. “My personal opinion is, deep down, Draco is desperate to get out of what he’s in. In ‘Half-Blood Prince,’ he had a real wake-up call, realizing this is not what he wants to do, this isn’t the path he wants to go down. Unfortunately, his parental influences aren’t too good. He’s kind of forced into the dark side. It’s hard when Voldemort is sort of your step-uncle, in a weird way.”
Felton said he’s had long talks with director David Yates about the best way to approach the good/evil duality within Draco, and the payoff has been a couple thrilling on-camera confrontations with Radcliffe.
“Harry and Draco almost have a bond, and they save each other’s lives on numerous occasions,” he said. “It’s a really weird love/hate relationship. It’s great that it’s left to our interpretation of how and why this is all happening. We have shot some really interesting stuff with me and Daniel — me saving him and him saving me. For once, we’re not just bickering!”
In particular, Felton is proud of his work on a massive battle scene at Hogwarts between Harry Potter and his Dark Arts-enabled adversaries. “That’s a fantastic moment in the courtyard, where it’s kind of like a Western showdown between good and evil, and Draco’s the only character where you have to go from one side to the other,” he said.
You can see an interview that our site and SnitchSeeker did with Tom last July in which I asked him why Draco did something good for Harry which and the ‘love/hate’ relationship is discussed.
ShockTillYouDrop are reporting that Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films) has a part in The Apparition. He has the role of Patrick. The film, which is inspired by true events, involves a couple who are haunted by a supernatural being unleashed during a college experiment. Others in the film, which is written and directed by Todd Lincoln, include Ashley Greene (Alice in the Twilight Saga films), Sebastian Stan, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino and Suzanne Ford. Filming has already begun.
For someone who portrays the bully ”Draco Malfoy” in the Harry Potter films, Tom Felton has received his share of children who are afraid to approach him or who yell spells at him. But he is a decent guy (you can even ask our webmistress who spoke to him a couple of times) who appreciates decent people.
According to his tweet on Twitter, Felton received an act of kindness when a lady found his iPhone at Starbucks and waited for him to return to claim it. Considering what she could have done with his phone…well, perish the thought!
TomFeltonProof there are still decent humans amongst us After all. Thought I’d lost my beloved iPhone. What a nice lady. I’m so relieved! Xxx
TomFeltonSuch a big thankyou to the lovely lady who just found my iPhone in starbucks then waited for me to come back and claim it! Amazing! : ) x
Personally, I would like to thank the lady for being an example of how to act towards our favorite Harry Potter stars!
Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) have updated their Twitters to say their hair is being colored/bleached again. They’re back on set to continue filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows after the holiday break.
Back at the castle getting the barnet dyed again. More blonde please x
Oliver even included a photo of all the different bottles of coloring, which you can see here. But, not to worry, as not all of it will be used on him.
Just a quick note, that not all that is used in one go. I’ll post a pic of the finished ginger hair tomorrow. G’night all.
Tom Felton, known for his role as “Draco Malfoy” in the Harry Potter films spoke to The Times about the important people in his life. Here is a brief excerpt:
My mum
In no way was she one of those mothers pushing me to act. In fact, I don’t think she wanted me to become an actor at all, which makes the sacrifices she made to get me here even more amazing.
I have been acting since I was 9, but at that age you can’t go up to London on your own or agree to anything independently, so she was always with me. At one point I got a part that required filming in Malaysia for four months, so she had to give up her job to come with me. It didn’t mean anything to me at the time, but I hope that in years to come I can repay her.
My one and only girlfriend
Jade is my soulmate and I get on with her better than anyone else. We fell in love on the set of Half-Blood Prince [she was the stunt co-ordinator’s assistant] and have just celebrated our 21-month anniversary. I sent her a box of goodies at work: Elemis skin products, Molton Brown bath stuff and other things she likes, which is always a winner. I have quite an extensive knowledge of beauty products now. . .

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films) and J.K. Rowling attended the British Comedy Awards this past Saturday night. Jo was the presenter for the outstanding contribution to comedy award which went to Peter Kay. You can see a photo of Jo at the ceremony here and Tom here.
In the WSJ interview, he talked about the last scene he filmed prior to leaving for New York City. He couldn’t say much but did say that he gets a bit emotional when he sees a battered and bruised Dan Radcliffe on set.
I can’t reveal too much, or I’ll get myself in trouble, but I can say that we’ve been shooting some of the very last scenes from the very last film. Though we’re not going to be able to see it for another two years, which is crazy. But it’s very moving, because this is what we’ve been working toward for the last 10 years. Daniel [Radcliffe] is the figurehead of the series, so when we see him battered and abused and scarred [while in character] on set, you get all emotional.
He also stated that Jason Isaacs, who portrays his on screen father Lucius Malfoy, taught him how to speak up while on set.
Jason Isaacs, who plays my dad [Lucius Malfoy], is especially great. I wouldn’t go up to Ralph Fiennes [who plays Lord Voldemort] and ask, ‘How do you cry?’. But Jason I feel quite comfortable asking, ‘how do you do this, and how do you do that?’. And he would never take offense if one were to go, ‘Jason, just shut up.’ The most helpful thing he’s taught me is to speak up, because when you’re surrounded by these great actors, you tend to be the quiet voice when everyone is talking, and he taught me to stand up for myself.
MTV also asked Tom about the reported nude scene that Dan will be doing for the horcrux scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I’ve seen some pretty horrific… no, I’m kidding. I haven’t seen any pictures — usually they do artist’s impressions to show us, but I haven’t seen anything yet. I haven’t talked to Dan about it, actually. I may have to have a word. I’m sure it will be awkward for them.
The one thing to keep in mind is that [the Potter series] are adult books. Half the characters die by the end, and often in grisly ways. Teenagers are about sex, drugs and rock & roll, and David’s very keen to keep the films true to what these kids would be going through in real life; he’s not censoring anything that doesn’t need to be censored. The idea of this alluring Hermione is great, because [the character] is so unalluring; it’ll be great to switch it up. And I can’t say exactly, but I look forward to what happens.
