Warwick Davis on Flitwick’s Appearance Change

Posted by Dijares On October - 11 - 2009

Warwick DavisWarwick Davis, who portrays Professor Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter films, explained on his Twitter account why Flitwick’s appearance changed from the first two films to the rest of the films.  In Prisoner of Azkaban, the producers still wanted him in the film, even though the character wasn’t in the script.  Therefore, they put him in as ‘Choir Master.’  And then Mike Newell, director of Goblet of Fire, liked the look, and stuck with it.

RT @fjmosca “Could you possibly give us an insight as to why Flitwick’s look was changed for the third HP movie?” @WarwickADavis Yes…
…So many of you have asked me the ‘New look Flitwick’ question, so I will answer it here, once and for all. When it came time to shoot…
…’Azkaban’, there was no mention of ‘Flitwick” in the script. However, the producer still wanted me to be in the movie…
…so he asked if I would play the role of ‘Choir Master’. Of course, I said ‘yes’. When it came time to shoot ‘Goblet of Fire’…
…the director, Michael Newell said he liked the look of the choir master, and from that moment, the character became known as ‘Flitwick’.
And that’s all there is to it. Not that interesting really, is it?

DH: Unconfirmed Spoiler & Davis Confirms Griphook Role

Posted by Lilysowl On August - 27 - 2009

Warwick DavisWe previously reported that Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) obtained a Twitter account.  One of his recent tweets was a confirmation that he is playing the role of Griphook the goblin in Deathly Hallows.

Sorry to mess you all about. Yes, I am indeed playing ‘Griphook’. Let’s just keep that between ourselves though.

If you’ll recall, he also told Dijares that he was had the roles of both Griphook and Flitwick while on the red carpet at the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince New York City premiere.  You can see the interview here.

He was not the only Harry Potter star to make a recent tweet about Deathly Hallows.  Oliver Phelps, who portrays George Weasley, tweeted proudly

Wicked days filming today. I can say I am the first actor in the UK to have a VFX MOVA facial capture scan. Exciting technology…

Right then MOVA is a system where by using 29 cameras and UV makeup and lighting can get very detailed motions of ones face.

There are unconfirmed reports that this technique is being used for the seven Potters scene.  Supposedly, all the actors, whose characters become Harry Potter, will undergo a similar scan.  This will create molds of faces as their features transform into a resemblance of the boy wizard after they drink the polyjuice potion.

Felton Twitters Warwick Davis Is Now On Twitter

Posted by Lilysowl On August - 3 - 2009

Warwick DavisAs most Harry Potter online fans know, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) is quite active on Twitter.  Recently, he posted this:

TomFeltonExciting news tweeps! Warwick Davis (professor flitwick) is on Twitter! Follow @Warwickadavis one of the nicest, funniest men I know! X

When I checked Mr. Davis’ account, this was his first post:

Baffled by Twitter!

But he is learning quickly.  Mr. Davis posted a photo of himself on a Segway.  Click here to see it.  And with some help from his “Twitter friends”, he created “Snape’s iPod Top 10″ which was inspired from observing Alan Rickman (Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films) with an iPod.  Click here to read the list.  Caution: Some of the songs contain mature content.

My favorites from the list are:  Bad by Michael Jackson and For Lily by Michael Silvestri. Lolol.

Mr. Davis noted that he will ask Mr. Rickman what is on his iPod the next time he encounters the actor and then post it on the same page as “Snape’s iPod Top 10″.

Thanks to TomFelton on Twitter for the tip!
