| Hey! My name is Anthony.
This is my first editorial for Harry
Potter’s Page and my first ever
column for any site. Thanks.
As we all know, J. K. Rowling has killed
off Sirius Black in The Order of the
Phoenix. We met him when Harry was in
third year (The Prisoner of Azkaban)
and now, two years later, he’s
dead. If she did kill him off, I know
she has her reasons, but to tell you
the truth, I don’t think he’s
dead! When I read that Sirius had died,
I was thunderstruck! There was no hint
or anything, his death was totally unexpected.
At least if there’s no real, breathing
Sirius coming back, then hopefully we
will see him in a picture somewhere
or maybe be he’ll even become
a ghost.
There was really no hint of his death,
but I think there could be hint that
he is still alive. Remember that 2-way
mirror Sirius gave Harry? Usually, Jo
doesn’t put in stuff like that
for no reason. I know that Harry got
mad about Sirius’ “death”
and chucked the mirror into his trunk
and broke it, but I’m pretty sure
that the “Reparo” spell
could put it back together within seconds!
Here’s my theory. Sometime near
the beginning of The Half Blood Prince,
Harry will look into his trunk, looking
for something, and finds the broken
pieces of the mirror and repairs it
(Reparo) and tries talking into it again
and gets no response, until he goes
to bed. He’s woken up in the middle
of the night by someone calling his
name: “Harry, Harry! Look into
the mirror!” When he does, he’ll
see Sirius’ face staring back
at him, telling Harry, he’s still
alive. (Note: This is just a theory,
mind you, it’s a hopeful theory,
but again: it’s only a theory!)
Like I said before, I hope that he
lives, but if he doesn’t, I’m
thinking (theory) that the Ministry
of Magic will clear his name and they’ll
find him innocent, before knowing that
he’s dead. I don’t have
much proof that he’ll live except
in book 5, chapter 10, page 173, with
the article title saying: Sirius Black:
Notorious Mass Murderer or Innocent
Singing Sensation?
Another person that I think might come
back is Mark Evans. I already know that
Jo said that he had no further part
in either book 6 or 7, but I think that
she might only be saying this because
he is the Half Blood Prince and she’s
just using that to cover up the truth.
By the way, why would she pick that
specific name? (Evans: Lily Potter’s
maiden name.) She said it was a coincidence,
but the chances of using that name are
quite rare, in this case at least. I
must admit though, I have no evidence
for this, but it’s hard not to
think that he’s the Half Blood
Prince. |
