Katie, Matt, Evanna, and Bonnie Speak on Phoenix and the Future
|
The Telegraph asked Katie Leung (Cho Chang), Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) about their experiences with the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film and what the actors would like to see happen with their characters. Here are a few excerpts:
Katie How will you feel when your family watch the kissing scene? I’ve never thought about that. Oh God. Well, there’s nothing I can do about it now. I’ll just have to watch the reaction on their faces when they see it.
Matt Will you be upset if Neville gets killed off? I would like him to live. But as long as he dies in a righteous and heroic way, I’ll be happy.
Evanna Do you think you are like your character? I think I am like Luna, but not as much as everyone thinks I am. She’s not as determined as I am. She wouldn’t have chased the part in the film the way I did. But we both believe in things that don’t have to have facts to back them up.
Bonnie Have you been given any clues as to what happens to your character? None whatsoever. I think it's best that way.
How would you like your character to end up? I would like to see her join Harry in his quest to fight Voldemort. I don't think he should have to go it alone.
Are you looking forward to your onscreen kiss with Harry in the next film? When I read about the kiss I wasn't expecting it at all. But I suppose I’ll get a feel of what’s to come when I see Katie and Dan’s kiss in this film.
UPDATE: The Gazette also has an interview with Matt Lewis, Bonnie Wright, and Evanna Lynch here (thanks to MN). |

Evanna: Getting Ready for the Deathly Hallows Que
|
Evanna Lynch, who portrays Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, recently spoke with the BBC regarding her love of the Harry Potter books, and her plans for the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
When she was eight, she was going through a Tin-Tin phase. Her mom told her about Harry Potter, but she thought a book about a boy with glasses sounded silly. Finally, her mom got her to read Philosopher's Stone, and she loved it. She read me a chapter when I was in bed, and I took it from her because I loved it so much. Tin-Tin went on the bottom shelf. I love Harry Potter because it's fantasy. It's like in our world but somewhere else, so you can escape from all the boring stuff of this world that you don't want to know about. But also Harry is very normal, as are all of the characters. They are just people who have talents.
She says she dreads Deathly Hallows because it's the last book. She wants the series to go on (don't we all?). I get out of a summer course on Thursday night, go to the bookshop, start queuing, queue all day Friday with my biggest Harry Potter fan friends, then read all of Friday night, all of Saturday, and then Sunday is a mourning day. I guess some people might recognise me in the queue, but everyone is just going to be so excited for the book that they won't care about me. |

Luna Actress Discusses Order of the Phoenix
|
Evanna Lynch, who portrays Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, recently spoke with the Dogheda Independent about her experience with being in the film. Here are a few excerpts:
Has appearing in ‘The Order of the Phoenix’ lived up to your expectations?
I was a little bit heartbroken to find that all the sets were in separate parts of the studio or that some of them had been dismantled. Also as I got to know the other actors I realised how different a lot of them are from their characters, extremely nice but different. As a fan that was tough to learn at first.
Are you looking forward to seeing how HP fans will react to the movie or are you nervous?
I want more than anyone for JK Rowling to be pleased with my Luna, because it’s her character. I have a nightmare of being at the after-party and meeting Jo and she’s just standing there shaking her head, and looking sad. That’s my boggart (worst fear). But she has been positive so far, so I am optimistic.
