According to JKR's interviews, the longest it has ever taken her (prior to OOTP which took so long b/c of that dang court case) more than 12 months to write one of her books. She started on book 6 at least by October or November - no, no, wait, perhaps by last July or August. So, it may be that we have a book, most definitely (as Baty has said) by November. :spin: :hat: :wizard2:

From an interview on 6 June 2003

JP: You mentioned in the previous books you finished one and immediately started the next. Have you started the sixth one?

JKR: Yeah.

JP: How far are you into it?

JKR: Not that far because I had a baby. But yeah, I started it when I was still pregnant with David. And I actually did get some writing done the other day, and that's not bad going considering he's only ten weeks. So he's pretty full time at the moment. But yeah I did a bit more the other day.

JP: Has Book Five - that thing that's the size of a house brick - it was originally much longer than that, was it?

JKR: No, actually it wasn't . It's about the size - originally I thought it would be slightly shorter than Goblet of Fire - and what is the phrase? The tale grew in the telling. It did. The thing is, I've got so much now, so much backstory to tell, but I really mean it this time. Six will not need to be that long. I had to move them around a lot in there, there's a lot of to-ing and fro-ing in there.

Jump for joy, we won't have to wait for 3 years. :col: I'm crying because I'm so happy.
I need to know what happened to Sirius... and what's going to happen in the next battle. Harry's going to get a minor but lasting injury so you know the fight will have to be juicy. Plus everyone will know that Voldemort's back.

Off to cloud 9 then, see you guys later. :cloud9:

I got this snippet from an article off of CBS Marketwatch thanks to TLC today.

QUOTE
For Scholastic, that catalyst is Harry Potter and Bird thinks the stock could enjoy "meaningful upside" 18 months out when the market may begin to discount the potential launch of the next book. He thinks the sequel is likely to be published in the summer of 2005 at the earliest but more likely in the summer of 2006.

:(

I really REALLY hope this guy is wrong. :badptr:

I am just counting down the days until Bloomsbury comes out with the re-issued adult version books in july 8th. and july 10th for the 5th book. those book covers look so much better. Maybe after I get them, I wont have to hide behind a discussion board, and can come out in the open...admitting I am an adult harry potter fan. pictures

Seth there are a lot of “us” out here. I am 24 and everyone I work with love the Harry Potter books too. In fact I was talking to one of the Doctors I work with about the books last night. I found it amusing that he made time to read HP while in medical school and thought his residency.

Well, NOT that I am ashamed, but we have a stretchy fabric book cover on OotP, so #1 our book jacket is in great condition on the shelf, and #2 no one knows WHAT we are carrying around... very mysterious!

my m8s always groan wen i mention the word Harry! I'm glad adults read it, now i dont feel so foolish every time my mum goes
"you are far too old for those books, they are for children" Whatever Mum! Maybe i should make her read them, but then i guess she would never cook the tea etc, she would be reading all the time!

After two years of trying I finally convinced my mom to read the books. She's had them for over 3 months now, but is only as far as page 60 or so in SS. But it's okay, as long as she reads them, i'm happy. Now if I can just get my sister and grandmother to read them..... :spin:

I don't tend to read out and about, but if I did I wouldn't be ashamed. I read hp, most of the people out there probably have, and if they say they havent, they're probably lying.
