Avada..., Lucius trying to kill Harry? Options

yes, he did say that, but it's just the movie. it doesn't mean anything in regards to the book...

Even if Lucius is a strong type of wizard that can cast a killing spell on a student, doesn't mean that there won't be severe consequences. Someone, like Dobby comes to save the day, or maybe Dumbledor would've saved Harry. It sounded to me like it was Avada but maybe it was something along the lines of: Vara. Don't know what it means though, or the spell Lucius was starting but i'm quite sure that he wouldn't want to kill Harry. Lucius might think that he's to pretty to be killed, lol!

I noticed him saying something that sounded like "avada" last time I watched Cos, but I'm not sure he would actually kill Harry right there in the middle of the hallway. I mean, not exactly subtle is it? :P I think he might have just been cursing under his breath or whatever, or there's another spell that starts with "avada". He's not stupid enough to kill Harry in the middle of the school like that, so I don't think he was really going to administer the killing curse. There is of course, the fact that this was the movie and not the book, so that could explain the inexplicable.

He says avada clearly and no other strange things. He's aiming harry with his wand with his eyes shinning with hate and rage.
I wonder why they put that in the film as long as it isn't in the book and we still know nothing about unforgivable curses from the films.

And it doesn't really matter because it's in themovie, not the books. The director probably wanted to make the scene a little more dramatic. Or describe exactly how angry Lucius was.
