when LV tried to kill harry... and was robbed of all his powers, did he need to go and use another horcrux then? and what about when he was on the back of quirrels head? did he need to use another one after that? and again in C.O.S??? or did he not need one?? im just so confused :P lol!

You make some good points Josie. I think that he would of had to make three more horcruxses after:he was robbed off his powers, when he was at the back of quirrels head and in C.O.S. It would be easier for us to make some theories, if there was an presice date.

I dont think Voldemort had to use horcuxes cause they bring you back to life. Voldemort was robbed from his powers but he quotes he was barely alive. When he was on the back of Quirrels he was a ghost, mist thing that escaped and was still alive from the unicorn blood I presume. Then in COS it was his memory that was brought back alive from the pages of his horcrux. That horcrux was destroyed then and there. I hope that clears it up a bit.

I think that the only time a Horcrux is used is when the maker dies. Then he gets back to life and one of his Horcruxes becomes a mere object. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) So when the maker dies then he basically gets alive again by a Horcrux? Or there may be a certain way he becomes alive and it all depends on what type of magic he put on the object. For example, the diary was a memory, so Riddle came back as a memory becoming more and more human.

Exactly, it is Lord V's way to be immortal. If one of his selfs, or, erm, pieces of soul or horcruxes should perish, then he has others that will come to life. But, like the diary, I think they need a way to come to life, right?

So, perhaps the locket had to be opened for him to come to life in that one.

So, makes you wonder, huh?

yea i think that all makes sense! so he didnt need another horcrux? he wil only need one if he actually dies!! wow, i didnt realise that i just thought that he would need one when weakend or something? but then.... i suppose its a soul not your health right? yeh.... i get it now :D thanks

Maybe the locket realeases the soul as an actual body? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fragend005.gif) No, that wouldn't make sense becaause then there would be two of V and we wouldn't want that!

OK, let's say someone finishes Voldemort off but there are horcruxes left. How does he get the horcrux he needs to bring him back to life? Does someone need to know where they are and have to bring it to him to bring him back or does it just automatically travel to him and the bit of soal re-enters him?? AND if that is the case when Voldemort tried to kill Harry and it sucked out all his powers did a horcrux he made earlier come into play here? Does that maybe mean there is one fewer than they think there is??

I don't think he died when the spell backfired, so maybe he didn't need to use one, but this leaves another question: when the soul came out of the diary, is that V inside his soul?

That's a good question... but I don't think he had that many horcruxes... He would have to have threee more than the only ones he has left..
