Oh my gosh, how evil is that to try to kill somebody?! Well, it doesnt really shock me, since Lucius is a Death Eater and all......

it sounded more to me like he was saying Amado Guevara but why would he be referencing a midfielder for the metrostars? 12:wacko: 02:lol:

I think that this is just another example of the films going against the books. I take very little notice of them to be honest.

I just rewatched Cos a few days ago, and I do think Lucius was saying "Ah-vah-dah" which is how you pronnounce Avada...but it's kinda lame considering the fact that the Unforgivables hadn't been introduced into the plot yet and that all Harry did was free Dobby...I mean it's not like he said he was gonna tell the world any of Lucius' deep Dark secrets! lol

The first time I watched the movie I was too excited to pay attention, but the second time I noticed that he was holding a wand and saying something, so I was trying to listen to what he was saying and then i remembered that that was one of the illegal curses, so I was wondering right there I know that Lucius is mean, but is he possibly evil because i now know that draco is not Slytherin's heir, but it turned out that I was right! Lucius is evil *celebrates*

I noticed it as well.
It sounds like the director didn't understand the meaning of Avadakedabra properly |

Well, JKR has said that the films are full of a lot of foreshadowing and stuff so it is possible for some things to pop into the plot before they do in the books.

I think he definitely says Avada. I believe he says that because remember that harry previously freed his servant. Ohh..I can imagine he is angrier than usual at harry. Ha Ha I would be too if i had a servant for my whole life and suddenly this dude comes along and frees him.
But One fact still remains that he would have to be pretty out of it to attempt murder right outside Dumbeldores office. In that event...Im not sure 10:unsure: |

I watched the movie last week, but I still remember. Why would Lucius kill Harry right outside of Dumbledore's office? I mean, He not retarted. Is he? And if he was, he wouldn't kill Harry. I could've sworn he siad Avada. But I was watching it on video tape so I couldn't put the subtitles on. 45:gryffindor: 45:gryffindor: 45:gryffindor:

But still, it would have been a grave blunder to have commited murder right under Dumbledore's nose, at Hogwarts. It would have been very obvious as to who did it, and it wouldn't have gone unheard of. Lucius would have gotten himself in a spot. I think it's a mistake on Chris's and Kloves' parts to have him say Avada. Seems a bit out of place to me.

I agree 100%! That was something that they put into the COS movie that really pushed my buttons cause it was such a stupid thing to do. 28:irked: |

i suppose - under DD's nose, quite obvious. But where was DD...still in his office...so, i suppose but if you see, i think they wanted more excitement because as in the book, Malfoy lunges at Harry, there is no wand, but the movie states otherwise...so like Sriv said, its a mistake on Chris' and Kloves parts...

Yeah, he said Avada.... and then Dobby goes "You shall not harm him, he may give me more socks!" blasts Lucius into next week and they all live happily ever after until Voldemort tries to kill Harry. AGAIN!
