What is the difference?
Aren't they the same language??

Is there more of a story in the UK version?

I think they're using different words, even if it means the same. Maybe Baty who has both the UK and US versions of the books, could help out on this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

In the first book they changed words like jumper to sweater, to help translate the differences in words, not realizing that the US kids aren't as stupid as they think, and would be able to figure it out. But now everything is the same, only the punctuation and spelling are changed. Example.... In England for a quote it's.... 'quote,' in the States it's "quote."

Well to add to the confusion, in at least one of the books , the US edition has an extra couple of sentences in it, which I think was an editing error.

Yes. For the most part, they're exactly the same. Some words and punctuation are/were changed like in Baty's example and the US versions have chapter pictures in them.

The only text differences between the two are the mention of Sirius's vault number in the UK version of POA and a couple sentences more in HBP when DD is talking to Draco in the US Version.
