Jeff shrugged his shoulders. "I'm sorry," he murmured and he really meant it.

Sophie's misery was turning into anger.
"Yes, you're really sorry!" she shouted, then she turned and ran out of the dormitory. She ran into the first empty class room and sank down onto the floor sobbing her heart out.
Yet she had only been crying for a short while, when she pulled herself together. She told herself she didn't care about him, she didn't care if he didn't like her; even if he was the most beautiful person in the world or anywhere. She sighed and blinked back more tears.

BANG! CRASH! BOOM! SMASH! BANG! over and over the constant smashing of Statues on the way toward Sierra's common room as she wordlessly made them nomore than rubble.

Jeff rounded the corner in the hall and shook his head. "Sierra," he said, "temper, temper." A smile tugged at his lips as he continued to walk by with his graceful steps.

"Fine," Sierra said slowing to a halt and closing her eyes the statues fixed themselves looking as though they had never been broken. "This place is just so...ARGH!"

Jeff raised his hands up and cocked his head, his eyes widening. "I know exactly how you feel," he said, "What's your problem with it?"

Sophie curled up into a miserable ball, hugging her knees and rocking back and forth, like a little girl who has lost her way.

Something was tugging at the back of Jeff's mind. He couldn't stop thinking about Sophie and that kiss... and that was bad.

Finally Sophie got up and walked to the door, peering out to make sure no one was in the hallway. Good, it was empty, she stepped out.

Sophie walked quickly to her dormitory. Please, don't let him be in there. she pleaded silently.

Sophie rounded a corner and walked right into...jeff.

"Everything." Muttered Sierra and walked away with an angered grace, that was crazy yet beautiful

Jeff whirled around quickly, anger bubling inside of him, but when he saw who it was, that all instantly melted away. "Hello, Sophie," he murmured in a sweet voice. He caught her scent and was nearly blown away. And then he realized, he'd never noticed how beautiful she was. His memories came flooding back to him, try as he might to push them away.

Sophie had told her self if she ever saw Jeff again she would not respond, just ingore him, but when he smiled, an angelic smile, and said hello in that way she nearly was blown off her feet. yet, she managed to shake herself to harsh reality and murmer a hi without glancing at his beautiful face. As soon as she was past him she felt a lot better, she had managed to walk away from him, and it had been easier than she had imagened it.

"Wait, wait, wait," he said running after her and catching her arm. He spun her around to face him, smiling despite himself. NO! he told himself sterly, Keep away from her. She's dangerous. Dangerous and not at all good for you. But somehow he was still caught up in the memory of her kiss, somehow wishing she'd do it again. "I was thinking-"

"What?" she said, rather fiercley.

Jeff flinched. "What I said earlier... it wasn't completely stupid," he began softly, "but it was... completely stupid. It doesn't matter to me anymore. You mean more to me that any reason that you shouldn't. Even though it's so wrong and dangerous and against every law of nature..."

Sophie felt confused.
"Against the law of nature?" She asked, shaking her dark brown hair in confusion. "What do you mean?" She looked up at him with big, confused blue eyes.
