Mine would have to be Gollum.. he's quite pitiable really, in the end, he saved the day and the animation for him in the films was really, really cool!

Really, that's great - he deserves it! Why's your favourite the Witch-King of Angmar?

Well, he's definitely evil, and one of the Dark Lord's greatest servants...But it's really dumb the way he dies...Good sword work from Eowyn 04:P |

Sauron
Ah, in the extended version of Return of the King... that mouth is scary... scary, scary mouth. I was afraid. He had funky teeth. Yah... never mind. Sauron is the best. Pity he had to die. Silly Frodo... he should have joined him. |

I change my answer... I think that the number one best "bad guy" is The Ring. No need to question why... it's deceiving, clever, trecherous... I love it. My precious...

ah a forum where you can discuss LOTR and HP.
anyways I have a weakness for the shady guys. I love Grima, though he was quoted at not being a bad guy persay, he was noted as being much a victem of Saruman as the others. He's ugly as heck but he's so soft and romantic when he speaks to Eoywn. I felt bad for him. Also since this is a harry potter forum as well...wonder is Grima is a long distant reletive of Severus LOL |

I was just re-watching the movie...I have to say I like Gollum a lot more in the movies then in the books. He comes off a bit more comical I think in the movies. In the books, I just pity him so much, probably because of the level of detail Tolkein goes into. Did anyone else find that?

Ah Gollum, good ol' Gollum. I just had to vote for him. Even though he is rather evil and does try to kill Frodo and Sam (I think), he's just a total legend. And he's even more brilliant in the flims! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That's funny. my son just re-watched these films during spring break, too. I definitely thing Peter Jackson did an excellent job with Gollum. And you're right, he made him pretty funny, but, to me, infinitesimally more evil/devious as well. |

Ah but the scene in the second one I think and Gollum is looking into the water and when they show the reflection it's Gollum and when they show his face he's Smeagle and he's arguing with himself, that bit cracked me up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
