You can see the first trailer (that just came online) here.
It's a 15 second trailer that doesn't show much, but has Dumbledore's voice saying, "Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry." It then fades into the Half-Blood Prince logo. |

They are teasing us!! I guess the point is they are giving you so very little to make you want to see more with even more expectancy. It's a cruel game they play to sell tickets. *grumble*

(little bit off topic) Don't let your dissapointment at this trailer stop you from seeing The Dark Knight. They only showed the HP trailer at IMAX theatres anyway so I didn't see it at the movies. But The Dark Knight is great!!

But, the trailer for Harry Potter (and I'm not sure if it's going to be different from the IMAX trailer) is supposed to play in US theatres with The Mummy on August 1st. This has been confirmed with some of the Hispanic Warner Bros, but the US WB have not confirmed yet. |

A little question about the trailers that will be released today: Is it worldwide or just for the US? Because Dij said (the post above this one) that will be online on AOL. If it's online, isn't available for everyone? I mean... well, the www is a world-wide-web... Or is that AOL only available, I don't know, for people who pays a certain connection, something like that? |

I just watched it. It looks good at first glance. I'm going to wait and watch it again later this evening after things cool off here. With no air conditioning and having several noisy fans blowing, its hard to focus all my attention to the trailer.
Once I can turn the fans off and devote full attention I'll come back with another post. -------------------- As an after thought, does anyone happen to know where I can download some good quality versions (preferably for Media Player) of the movie trailers to this point? Would be nice to have them and take a walk down memory lane now and again. This post has been edited by Fizzing_Whizzbee: Jul 29 2008, 08:30 PM |

You can find links here: http://harrypotterspage.com/news.php/2008/...-online123.html There is a link to the AOL screenings which are in hi-def. I've also made some screen shots, which can be seen here. Does Hero Fiennes-Tiffin look awesome as Young Riddle, or what? (IMG:http://www.harrypotterspage.com/images/photogallery/albums/userpics/33.jpg) And the Dumbledore fire scene in the cave! Holy cow!!! Straight off the cover of the UK book! Love the new trailer, just saw it on the news...but it is very specific don't you think? You know it's almost like showing one scene from the movie but not much else? I guess I would have liked to see a bit more trio, maybe slughorn but I guess it's just different you know? Not bad but different to the previous traliers

Personally... I was disapointed by the trailer. The trailer seemed to have forgotten to give the plot of the movie, as well as the "cooler" elements of the story. They need to show more Hermione, Ron, and... actually Harry as well. I am happy to say that Ginny has really grown into herself, and looks as though she'll be great! Although the film looks like it'll be good, it didn't make me go "wow I am now DYING to see that movie." It almost made me feel that I can wait for the film. I am confident this film will be one of my favorites... but I only watched the trailer once and didn't rewatch it, so that's a SURE sign that WB needs to work on their future HP trailers. I hope the next one we get is given the same amount of care as the Dark Knight trailer... which was fantastic.
Oh well! I suppose at least now, I feel I can wait for this film. |

Keep in mind, this trailer is a TEASER. And it did exactly what it was supposed to do - it teased us - about Young Riddle and Voldemort. It teased us and let us know that the film (and this is really what it is about) is about learning about Voldemort and how he became what he became. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I agree with Dij, it did what it was supposed to do for the first time around. You wouldn't want them to show all the exciting parts the first time around when there will be more coming.

I wasn't dissapointed, I actually liked it.
I just hope they won't ruin it... Young little Voldy was scary. Not much to say, today. I feel quite sleepy. See you tomorrow! |

You know how in some movie trailers, they show all the best parts in the actual trailer? You go see the movie thinking that you'll see something new, but you end up disappointed. I'd rather see bits and pieces in the trailers than the actual main parts. Seriously, in trailers to come, I would feel bad if I saw all the Ginny/Harry action going on in the trailer. Then I wouldn't have anything making me shake nervously as I waited in the theatre. So I kind of like this trailer. It was a scene that I was kind of worried about, but I think they did good. I can't wait for the next one.
Remember we still have like 113 days until the movie. I'm sure there's more to come. |

Is there going to be a count down to the movie like there was for the books? I liked to have it on my desktop. |
