At Zola's request I've managed to come up with a way to play Hangman. But things are going to have to be a little different in this game than in some of the others since getting the puzzle wrong can possibly happen rather quickly. First, only one letter per guess. That way one person won't hog the whole puzzle. Second, only one poster before the puzzle creator comes back to the Boards. That way we won't have ten guesses and half of them wrong knocking out the puzzle before the creator comes back. Yes, it will make the puzzles take longer to be completed, but it would be frustrating to see the puzzle knocked out for the creator when they come back and had no one guess it correctly. Speaking of correct guesses, if you guess the puzzle correctly, you get to create the next puzzle. But, if you guess incorrectly, you get no more guesses for that puzzle, not even for letters, and a body part is added on. And if you created a puzzle and nobody gets it when the Hangman is completely on the noose, you get to make a new puzzle. And one other thing, if you are the puzzle creator and you make a puzzle that is missing a letter, your turn will be over as soon as it is detected and the new creator will be chosen by way of whoever had the first guess when the incorrect puzzle was put up. Those are all the rules I can come up with now. If something comes up later that I haven't thought of, I'll deal with it at that time. (I'm sure there'll be something, lol.)
I was thinking of making a standard Hangman picture that we could use but since that looked a little goofy and only gave room for six mistakes, I decided to just go with a list format with room for three more errors like this: Head Body R. Arm L. Arm R. Leg L. Leg R. Eye L. Eye Frown Frown being the final one and indicating that the puzzle is over, but the arms, legs and eyes can go up in no particular order. Oh, and please try to remember to put up which letter was guessed incorrectly next to the body part. I'm going to show an example puzzle so there will hopefully not be any confusion. And before I forget, the Boards will not allow you to leave blank spaces between words, so the puzzle creator is going to have to indicate how many letters and how many words on each puzzle. PC = Puzzle Creator Example for PC: _ _ _ _ _ |_ _ _ _ _ _ 2 words 5|6 Poster A: R PC: _ _ R R _| _ _ _ _ _ R 2 words 5|6 Poster B: S PC: _ _ R R _| _ _ _ _ _ R 2 words 5|6 Head - S Poster A: Larry Totter (Hey, I had to come up with something, lol) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) PC: _ _ R R _| _ _ _ _ _ R 2 words 5|6 Head - S Body - Larry Totter Poster C: H PC: H _ R R _| _ _ _ _ _ R 2 words 5|6 Head - S Body - Larry Totter Poster B: M PC: H _ R R _| _ _ T T _ R 2 words 5|6 Head - S Body - Larry Totter L. So if you notice, when Poster A guessed the puzzle incorrectly, they were no longer able to guess and a body part was thrown on. Also, only one poster was allowed to guess between the PC's posts. So, I think that's it. And keep in mind that I'll be watching to make sure it's played properly. If it isn't your first warning will be a freebie. But after that I'll start raising warning levels. The rules are simple and I've noticed people covering pages worth of posts in other games eating up Dij's bandwith. An occasional ourburst of posts is okay, but repetitively it is annoying and I won't tolerate it in this topic where it could end the game. Hang on you guys! You don't need to put Poster A, B, C and such. I just used those for my examples. You can just put up your letter. That will be fine. :)
