What if Dumberdore gave Harry the Beetle Bard instead of Hermione? Do you think He would get the messages left by Dumberdore?

No because he didn't take ancient runes class so he wouldn't of been able to read the stories anyway.

I think the important point is that DD wouldn't have given Harry the book at all. He gave each of them their 'gifts' for very specific reasons. Just like Hermione and Ron couldnt have opened the Snitch. And Hermione and Harry wouldn't have needed the de-illuminator in the way Ron did.
