Mia stepped in front of him, her hands on her hips. "What do you think you're doing, Riddle?"
Tom skidded to a halt, his heart skipping a beat. He hurridly tried to slide past her, but she stood right in the doorway. "I-uh-I've got to look up a spell-"
"Sure," Mia muttered. She leaned closer to him and continued in a whisper. "I know what you did," she whispered.
Tom jumped back. His eyes widened. That was it, his cover was blown; his worst nightmare come true. "You mean-"
"Exactly," she said, "and you know what?"
As a smile crossed her face, he began to doubt that she really knew; he might be safe after all. "What?" he asked, trying to keep his cool.
"I say yes!" She wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on shoulder. Tom's face burned and he glanced down the hall, but nobody was there.
"That's good," Tom said, "but I-uh, don't know what you're-"
Mia let go of him and stood back. "You mean it wasn't you?"
"No," he responded quickly. Too quickly.
She looked hurt and dropped her head. "I guess not. I mean, of course you wouldn't." Her cheeks were bright red and her eyes were beginning to fill with tears.
"I wouldn't what?"

Mia looked up quickly and opened her mouth to speak, but a scream broke down the hall. Tom's eyes widened and he bit his lip. "Not again," he muttered, fauxing innocence. Mia seemed to buy it. She grabbed his forearm and pulled him into the library. With her fingers still tight on his arm, she dragged him between two tall bookcases.
"Listen," she whispered pulling him closer, "I know who the Heir of Slytherin is."
Tom tried not to smile. She thought she knew. "Who," he said with a puzzled look.
She cocked her head and the grin she had a moment earlier faded. "Don't play coy with me, Riddle." She jabbed a finger at him. "You know perfectly well who it is."
Tom shook his head. "I promise, I don't." He was so convincing he almost fooled himself. But Mia didn't seem moved in the least.
"You're funny," she murmered. She glanced around quickly with a worried stare. Than she leaned in closer to him, her voice so low he had to strain to hear her. "It's you." He leaned back in shock.
"What makes you think that?" he asked. It was believable.
Mia smiled pointedly at him. "I saw you... and the basilisk."
Tom's mouth dropped open and he shook his head quickly. "You're mistaking. It wasn't-"
"It was; my eyes don't lie."
He raised an eyebrow, suddenly feeling fear. "That's not-"
"Dont' worry, Tom," she cut in, "I won't tell anybody... if-" She stopped and smiled at his panic. He hated being at her mercy. It was the worst feeling to him. Not only did she have her word against him, Dumbledore already didn't trust him and his behavior in the past weeks had been... unusual...
"Whatever you say!" he pleaded.
Mia suddenly seemed different. Her sparkling eyes darkened, the look that had always been in his own eyes. "I won't tell anybody, if..." she glanced around one more time before adding almost inaudibly, "if you teach me the Dark Arts."

Thanks a lot! It's always good to hear that somebody likes it! Teehee... sadly I really don't think I'll be able to add anymore until the weekend or maybe tomorrow... ie Thursday.

Tom stepped back and looked her straight in the eye. She gazed back, her face emotionless. "You're not lying," he murmered and she shook her head. He averted his eyes and bit his lip. His hand drifted to his wand, just in case. "Why?" he asked.
"Why do I want to learn, you mean-" she paused and an evil smiled grew. "The same reason you do: power. And there's only one way to get it. As I see it, there really is no good and evil; there is only power and those to weak to seek it."
Tom grinned but then shook his head. "How can I trust that you're not just going to-"
"You're my only hope, Riddle... I can't teach myself like you did. Please," she begged, "you've got to trust me."

(Got to go do dishes now... bye bye! Sorry it's so short.)

Tom Riddle ran a hand through his hair and leaned against the tall oak tree. He wore a casual expression, his eyes glinting softly in the shadows of the tree. His arms were crossed loosly and his school bag lay at his feet.
There was an air of superiority about him. Students milling across the grounds hurried past, glancing at him admiringly and fearfully. But he ignored them.
His gaze swept over the plane of his view. A group of Gryffendors passed in front of him, falling suddenly silent as they neared. Their faces showed contempt and they raised their chins high and avoided his eye. One of the girls, however, stooped low, shuffling behind one of her friends. He glimpsed her face, which was bright red, before a curtain of brown hair fell from her braide, hiding it from view...

Oh darn it... it's time for bed!!! I'll write more on Monday or whenever I get around to it... Sorry!!!
Tell me if you like it so far... personally I hate it, but that's just me... I'll keep going if you want!!! Comment on it!!!
