Selene thumbed through her books trying to find something to write about for potions, she threw on bok afer the other on the ground finding nothing, she stood and looked at her ancestors books she found one that was extremely old and worn flipping it open she found a forbidden potions book. She began to write enveloped in the mysteries in the text in front of her

Diana had failed her charms essay. How like Quinton. He had snatched it from her before she was even halfway through "paraphrasing!" And then, Amanda just had to come along and ruin her chances with Quinton, and with Charms. She now had a night's worth of detention cleaning the dungeons. Fuming, she stomped as loudly as she could, hearing her footsteps echo along the cold dungeon walls.

"What are you doing down here?" he asked Amanda, suddenly shy. He knelt down beside her and put a hand on her shoulder. Her cheeks grew red as she looked up at him and she quickly brushed away her tears. Quinton himself felt embarrased, moving his hand from her. "Sorry," he muttered almost inaudibly. He took her under the elbow and lifted her to a standing position with him. "What's the matter?" he asked timidly.

Selene could hear voices, stuffing the potions book in her bag she kept writing she didn't know why she was so nervous only she could get into the room

Diana rounded a corner just in time to see Quinton kneeling with his back to her. She stopped dead in her tracks in surprise. She was about to call out to him when she noticed that he was talking quietly to someone who was crying beside him. When he stood, she saw with stab of jealousy, that it was Amanda. She was leaning her head on his shoulder, and he was comforting her! Diana stepped back around the corner, and out of sight. She heard them whispering to each other, and then he heard Amanda laugh quietly. Diana fought back the urge to cry. It wasn't fair. "Amanda was just in the right place at the right time," she told herself. "If it was me, he'd comfort me also." Even in her mind this sounded pathetically desperate. She didn't even believe what she was telling herself. "He hates me," she realized miserably, "he hates me and adores her." Diana had been mad at Amanda before, but now she was furious. She hid behind the corner until she was sure they had gone. Sulking, she walked slowly to Proffessor Slughorn's office, where she was to serve her detention.

Quinton touched Amanda's nose softly. "Just like you to get lost," he muttered, but there was a strange smile on his lips.

Diana knew her detention would be difficult from the moment she entered Slughorn's office. A mop, rubber gloves, and a pail of sudsy water waited on the floor in front of his desk. Slughorn smiled when he saw her enter the room. "Hello my dear!" he stood up to welcome her. "Perfect timing. The potion's classroom has been looking a bit, well, grimy you could say. Your job is to clean it spotless. By the way, what did you do this time?" He asked, with a mischevious twinkle in his eye.
"I failed a charms essay...again."
Proffessor Slughorn chuckled. "Well, hop to it! I'll come get you in a couple of hours. Oh, and no magic."
Diana groaned inwardly. No magic. She trudged through the door to the classroom... and gasped at what she saw.

Grimy had been an understatement.

Quinton suddenly glanced down at his watch. "Oh my gosh!" he yelped jumping up, "I've got to get to my detention." He grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the dungeons. "Sorry," he called over his shoulder as he ran on, "I'll see you later!"
He hurried as quickly as he could, but Slughorn was already exiting the office. "I know I'm late," Quinton sighed, "but please don't-"
"It's alright, m'boy," the man replied with a smile, "It'll be our little smile." He gave him a little wink. "Miss Briscoe is already here. She will tell you what to do."
Quinton thought he saw a dark smiled on his old teacher's face as he turned away. He raised an eyebrow and entered the office quickly.

Selene leaned back on her chair then toppled over loking at her watch
"oh my gosh! Detention!" She whispered then standing up she sprinted up the the stairs and ran face first into proffesor slughorn
"ah selene my dear," He said offering her a hand "why are you running around the corridors?" HE asked chortling
"Detention," She muttered
"but whatever for. your bright i have never seen you fail a single subject," HE said shocked
"you've seen me beat the living daylights out of somebody either," She glowered,
"oh oh my, well miss briscoe will tell you what to do. Enjo cleaning my dear," He handed her a mop and she looked at him enraged "shh dont tell anyone its enchanted." He said tapping the side of his nose with a wink and eryn walked into the room and saw quinton in there also being told what he was to do he to had a mop in hand

Diana was fighting the urge to hit Quinton over the head with her mop as she explained the instructions to him through gritted teeth. It's a painful thing, being jealous of your best friend, but right now she wouldn't mind hitting both Amanda and Quinton over the head with a mop. How could they? She settled in for a long evening as they bent over their mops.

Quinton awkwardly tried to make conversation and was met(to his profound confusion) with icy glares. Eventually he just gave up and they worked in a very loud, uncomfortable silence. It got to the point where Diana almost talked to him just to put them both out of their painfully awkward misery. Diana was almost relieved to see Selene bound through the door, but not quite. Quinton groaned, and Diana smiled at him, but caught herself and quickly rearanged her face into a scowl.
"What are you doing here Selene? Why aren't you in your "private study" or wherever it is you go?" Diana sneered at her.
"I have detention. Believe me, I'd much rather be in my study...um...studying."
Quinton stood up, leaning on his mop. "Might I remind you that your "study" happens to be our common room?"
"I am the true heir of Salazar Slytherin, and you know it," Selene muttered under her breath.
Quinton and Diana laughed out loud. "Right," Diana laughed," which is why you're in Gryffindor."
Selene glared at them, but after that, the ice broke between Quinton and Diana. They laughed and joked with each other, while Selene stood, very third wheel, in a hurt silence for the remainder of the evening.

Selene went of in a ranting rave under her breath in parseltongue, then again Diana spoke to her
"Like you can speak Parseltongue you probably just put together hisses and stuff."
"Fine, i'll prove it two you." With a quick spell Selena conjured a snake hissing "What do you want him to do?"
"Make him rise then fall then go to the right then the left." Diana sneered
"Hello little fella, do you think you could help me?" Selene said in parseltongue sitting down and the snake nodded his head
"of course," HE hissed
"OKay can you rise," The snake did as he was told "now fall," as he fell Selene repeated Diana's instuctions and the snake followed. Then he wordlessly slithered out of the room
"Believe me now?" she smirked leaving Diana and Quinton speechless

It's a little late but Im gunna join. My name is Jeremy and im im Slytherin as well. Im also kinda "loopy" you will know what I mean.

Jeremy stolled down a dark corridor only to have something slither up to him be extended his hand to feel a scaly object underneath his fingers he picked it up and noticed it was a snake and it came through a open door that was open just a crack. Jeremy walked over to the door and slipped in unoticed. From the shadows he saw three people two girls and a boy. He approcahed them form the shadows. "Someone drop something" he said making them all jump whole extending his arm holding the snake.

Quinton rolled his eyes. "Show off," he muttered. He went back to his mop. "Anyways," he continued, "as I was saying, there's a Hogsmede trip this weekend." He looked pointedly at Amanda, who was intent upon mopping the same spot of the floor. Shrugging he turned to Diana. "Would you two like to go with me?" Amanda looked up quickly and mouth the word me? Quinton nodded. "Who else?" he said with an edge on his voice.

"Geez... What is your problem?" Selene said turning around arms crossed over her chest glaring at quinton her eyes as dangerous and venomous as a spitting cobra ready to strike.

Jeremy smiled amused as he got up on a desk and crossed his legs. "Well I think it should be delightful for you three to...bond." Jeremy said looking at them, interupting them.

Selene shook her head and thrust her mop at the wall not even wincing as it broke with a loud crack. Then turning on her heel she stormed out of the room.
