So, imagine you're in his situation at the end of book six. What plans would you make to get at Voldy?

I'm at a complete loss, but here's a couple ideas.

1. I wouldn't just sit in school either. Harry needs to get those horcruxes.

2. I'd get a gun - if possible enchant it so it never misses. The best way to get some of these death eaters is when they're off guard from a distance. Aiming with wands is difficult, apparently.

3. Get Borgin & Burkes shut down, all employees/owners arrested.

4. give a cell phone to select people to contact them - since it wouldn't be monitored by the ministry of magic, and the death eaters wouldn't suspect immediately. Getting cash for this would require making a withdrawal from Gringotts and then a currency exchange with them. Two coins should be enough to do it.

5. I think Cedric Hollow would be a great place to lay a trap for death eaters - but also a risk for I bet they're already setting one for Harry. Harry needs to get there quietly and invisible, and wait a long time to see who's laying in wait. This place might also be the location of a horcrux. It seems fitting.

6. Somehow, Harry's gonna need to find where the horcruxes are. To me the simplest way would involve catching a death eater, forcing down some verita syrum, and getting a confession. So I think Harry's gonna need some of that potion. Some more felix felicis wouldn't hurt either. They both take over a month to cure so he'd better make em now or buy it somewhere.

7. If and when Harry's destroyed all the horcruxes he's going to need to lure Voldy out of hiding. This should be easier for him than for Dumbledore. Harry himself is a lure. So, he could simply not hide and let the death eaters come to him. Or he could let slip to a death eater that the horcrux in the cave is destroyed - if Voldy didn't know, he may want to check for himself, so that Harry could lay in wait.

8. If I were going into any battle with death eaters I'd want hagrid and Grawp with me, since jinxes and curses just bounce right off them.

9. I'd make the Weasely house and the Dursley's house unplottable, with Harry as the secret keeper, to keep them all safe.

10. If you could do it, it might be worth cutting off one of Fenrir's hands and using it to slash at death eaters and/or Voldemort. The wounds would be harder to heal, and you might be able to finish them off with it.

11. More practical might be taking Gryffindor's sword.

12. Dumbledore suggested to Harry that Voldy secretly fears darkness and death. Harry could use that to his advantage to take Voldy off guard.

13. Harry should get a backup wand. He might try breaking into Ollivanders, or at least setting it on fire to keep Death Eaters from using them.

14. Harry should try and get some good items from Fred & George

First, welcome to the boards.

Second. You may not be serious about all this, but I'll give it a crack anyhow... I got time to kill.

1. School is where he's safest and a good base to do the research, since he'll need the pensieve, among other things...

2. Guns are for murderers. Harry isn't going to become a murderer.

3. Why not shut down everything in Knockturn Alley? Because the ministry needs the money Burkes and his type (Malfoy) donate.

4. Cell phones... Have you never listened to Hermione? Sheesh. Electronics don't work at Hogwarts...

5. In Godric's Hollow I'm betting important things will happen, but there is no Horcrux there. Ambush from Death Eaters? Could be...

6. Felix didn't save Dumbledore though, and capturing a death eater isn't like catching a flobberworm...

7. Interesting plan, but Harry's advantage is that Voldy doesn't know he's destroyed horcruxes (except the diary, in theory)

8. Hagrid and Grawp will be helpful but I'd guess they'll be occupied fighting all the other giants on Voldy's side...

9. Harry's already safe at the Dursleys and the Burrow probably already has some magical protection, but good ideas nonetheless. Just so you know, the secret keeper spell and the process of making something unplottable aren't necessarily the same thing...

10. See number 2

11. The sword could definitely come into play... as a weapon or not... we'll see.

12. Actually DD said Voldy fears death, but he merely compared it to a fear of darkness, because it's unknown... Honestly... Voldemort afraid of the dark???

13. Harry's wand that saved him in GoF?? A backup??? Not a chance... And Ollivander is gone. He packed up the shop and left.

14. And now a practical idea... Fred and George are certainly going to have developed some great tools for Harry to use...

All right. Please don't be annoyed with me for correcting some of your points. I don't want to discourage you from participating in the discussion. We do have are fun trying to figure out the puzzle don't we?

Thanks for the reply, I've been posting this on other Potter forums, but they're all about dead right now. So that's the main thing. Now, let's go over some of your points

1. Yes, Hogwarts is generally pretty safe, but I bet Voldy could get through the defenses, so when push comes to shove, he could kill Harry there, and many innocents in the way. So that's not perfect. Plus, I don't see Harry needing the Pensieve anymore. He and Dumbledore pieced together enough of the past to konw what to do. Hopefully, if Harry finds anymore witnesses, he can just question them and move on from there. As for research, Hermione already stated that none of the books at Hogwarts mention horcruxes, a banned topic.

2. Harry'd better become a murderer or he'll soon be a victim. And from what we've seen of Bellatrix, Snape, and others, they've got it comin to em

3. Nonsense, a store like Borgin's hardly reports most of their illegal sales, and doesn't pay taxes on it. They're black market dealers. Plus, now that they've openly aided the death eaters, that make's em accomplices to attempted murder. No amount of tax paying gets you out of that. Other store owners on Diagon alley would surely agree, and would not protest.

4. Good point, I forgot about that, but people like McGonnagall and Hagrid could have one and call him in Hogsmeade or nearby

5. How do we know there's no horcrux there?

6. Dumbledore hadn't tasted any Felix that night, so of course it wouldn't help him. It certainly saved Ginny's life that night.

7. Either plan could work to Harry's advantage. Unfortunately, Voldy could always make more horcruxes. It could go on and on. I wouldn't be surprised if Snape made a horcrux while killing Dumbledore.

8. If harry and them are smart, they'll avoid the evil giants all they can. If harry has to face one, he'd better be able to conjure a large rock to land on it's head.

9. That spell protecting Harry and the Dursley ends after this last visit. And the unplottable place and the secret keeper are part of the same spell.

10. See my 2 written above

11. The sword slew a basilisk. Seems like it slices through dark magic.

12. "There is nothing to be feard from a body, Harry, any more than there is anything to be feared from the darkness. Lord Voldemort, who of course secretly fears both, disagrees" - Dumbledore.

13. Although his wand is a good match against voldy's, we've seen all too often that a wand can easily be knocked away with a simple expelliarmus. It happens over and over again, and anyone ever going into a fight with weapons knows they should have more than one.

14. hopefully. Imagine feeding Voldymort a puking pastille?

Ok, here are two more ideas:

15. To go undetected as a wizard, Harry's going to have to get along without magic for awhile, until he really needs it.

16. Kreacher probably knows where Bellatrix is, or where to find her/how to get in contact with her. Harry could and should force it out of him. Or he could ask Dobby to search some of this. I think Dobby's a very good magician in his own right, and would be a great ally for Harry, in a fight.
