"Mars is bright tonight." - Firenze
"This year, Mars will be bright in the sky during the Christmas season. He is an archon of war and aggression, and there is no denying his terrible influence at this time in history. But the spiritual traditions say that he has a good side—he strengthens, fortifies, and sharpens everything we do. This year might be the time to firm up our notions of what it means to be religious and spiritual, what it means to love our enemies, and what it means to make peace." - Sir Thomas Moore ***************** We know that Rowling is pretty well-educated and knows how to make connections between classics and her popular book. I thought it was interesting that she had Firenze say this, connecting his prophecy to Moore's (the author of Utopia) prophecy. I think the major line that is important in Moore's prophecy is "What it means to love our enemies, and what it means to make peace." I really think that Harry, better understanding Tom Riddle after book six, will develop sympathy for Riddle and this will make Harry more powerful. I'm not saying that peace will emerge between Tom and Harry, but I do think the sympathy is important. This post has been edited by Witherwings: Jul 14 2007, 11:18 AM |

Hmmm...the love of Christmas? LOL! I don't know....maybe it isn't talking about Harry and Voldemort but Firenze in particular. Instead of going with the flow of his kind he made friends with wizards. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
