I was wrong, it was unexpected to be quite so soon since that's less than 6 months from now and she had about seven months for HBP when she released the news, and you know, I don't care!! July 21, 2007!!!! What is that? A week after OOTP? Some week, let me tell ya!! I can't wait!! First Disneyworld, then OOTP, then DH. 2007 is going to be a year to remember in this household, that's for sure! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
But some timing she's got, seriously! I'm sitting here sick trying to get ready for our trip (we leave Saturday), and I've still got cleaning, laundry and packing to do on top of going to the Doc's office (which I NEVER do). I can't sit here and chat about it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) So you guys make sure you do your fill of it while I'm gone and give me plenty to read when I get back. I'm counting on you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I AM SO EXCITED!!! I saw the article headline on cnn.com and immediately came over here! Yea!!!
Oh, wait. Then the series will be over. I'll be sad. But my husband might finally read the books after they've all been printed. He hates waiting for books to print, so he tends not to read a series until it is finished. Anyway, then my husband can finally understand what the REST of us have been enjoying. Oooo. A movie. A book. Wish I was going to Disneyworld, too. Aw, but the movie & the book will be good enough for us. |

I know better than to believe rumors and the odds makers from Vegas, but even still, there was a part of me that was really expecting the release date to be the 7th of July instead of the 21st. From an aesthetic view point, it just seemed like it would be a better date. Would only have to remember two numbers (07/07/07) for the 7th book. Just a slam dunk for marketing. But hey, so long as it comes out, thats all that matters.
But I agree that July is going to be a heck of a month. 'Phoenix' on the 13th (which is Friday the 13th oddly enough), and 'Hallows' a mere 8 days after that. If I were one to paly the stock market...I'd be buying a few shares od Warner Brothers and Scholastic between now and July and then make a decent return from selling. |

First Disneyworld, then OOTP, then DH. 2007 is going to be a year to remember in this household, that's for sure! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Well first off, I'd like to thank Dij for calling me at work this morning to let me know that the book was being released; it set the pace for the rest of the day. So....... Thanks Dij!!! smoochie kisses to you!!! Now back to the book release. To all who wished it to be 07.07.07, you were very close. I said, when the rumors came out, if she was to get it out by July she'd have to release the news very soon. Well it was very soon and we now will have a book. Now, I thought the boards would be slamming with this news. I'm elated yet sad to have the news. I have lived Potter almost from the beginning. I went to the WB boards when they were white text on black board. Then came over here. If JK doesn't kill off any of my kids I will read the books, stay with the boards for a bit, then Potter will cease to exist except for the movies. I've decided that board time will no longer be necessary. If JK does kill any of my kids, (and with the release as such I'm beginning to wonder) I will of course not grace the boards because I will not want to know. WWW is going to be my best buddy, and read very fast then call me to let me know whether or not to read. So www, you will be going to Disney world, then the movie, then the book. I will be going to England, then the movie, then the book. LOL We have a very exciting year don't we!!! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) OMG! I can't believe it's this early! There's so much excitement! I guess the release date theories are probably much closer than our other theories! LOL! Oddly, I'm okay with that. Let our Jo suprise us with some plot twists!...I just don't want to be left waiting for the movies and no books, though.

I am undoubtedly ecstatic about the "last" book nearing a release date. I put final in quotes because she never said definatevily she would not return to Harry's world in general , merely stated this would be final book in this particular series...there is a difference in my way of thinking.
Anyways, with as happy as I am, it does leave me with two small problems. 1. I got a new desk for Christmas and the first 6 books fit very nicely on the shelves, but not so much room for the 7th. So i'll have to do a little rearranging ( I would hate to have to split the series in half for different shelves after all hehe). 2. When the book is finally released, I doubt it will be long before Scholastic offers up a boxed set with all seven hardbacks and perhaps the two Charity Books as I call them ('Quidditch' and 'Fantastic Beasts'). I would be soreley tempted to buy something like that and leave it unopened. Just to have a complete set in mint conditionto try and preserve for posterity in addition to a regular set that will go through the usual wear and tear of multiple readings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . |

YAYAYAYAYAY!.....*breaths*
Words can not describe just how excited I am right now! Great time for it to come out too! 21st in a Saturday in Aus, 9:01 am, so that gives me all of Saturday and Sunday to read the book before school on monday. QUOTE 2. I would be soreley tempted to buy something like that and leave it unopened. Just to have a complete set in mint conditionto try and preserve for posterity in addition to a regular set that will go through the usual wear and tear of multiple readings . Oh so true. As much as I would love to buy the complete set if/when they release it, I get enough teasing from others over the fact I already have 2 copies of all of the books. This is simply because, after the 20th or so reading of each book, they began to fall apart. (Hello, hardcover of GOF) So I now have my original copies of all the books, and the new shiny versions. But the last book will undoubtfully bring tears to my eyes. I read Philsophers Stone, the year it was released, and I'm pretty sure I was in grade one or two. Now, in grade 11, the series will finally reach its end. The books have covered almost my entire school life and to see them end will be painfully sad, but exciting at the same time. QUOTE I went to the WB boards when they were white text on black board. Me too Baty, Me too. Those were great times. The series was so new and there what a lot few of us hardcore fans. It's amazing how much they've grown. |

OT, once my PoA book ripped and I was almost crying! Then I convinced my mom to get me the boxed set and gave my friend my old ripped copy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) The weird thing was that she was completely estatic that she got a Harry Potter book and didn't care it was ripped.
QUOTE I was thinking july 31 but this is better. Hey, I think that would've been cool because the book would've been released on Harry's birthday! What a convenient date if the book starts with his birthday! |

Mum would only let me type when she was there with me so she used to do alot of it for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But yes, I was very very little. It's hard to think that back then we only had the first book, or the first two and now here we are at book 7. |

well, I began readig harry potter books on 2001, some months before the first movie... And that because I use dto hate the idea of harry potter, i remember i saw "harry potter and this" and "harry potter and that" in every book shop, and thought "OMG, another stupid series for children, how many is it going to be, 34 books?" And a neighbor made me read them, I wish I had discovered them before, so it would be more than just 6 years with harry potter, but well, at least i could enjoy Sirius life more than my friends, that read all the first 5 books together...
Anyway, I began visiting harry potter sites in 2004, and this was my first harry potter fan site. And let me tell you that it's still my favourite. I tried some more, but this is this best, so it is an honour to get desperated for the last book with you, people! |
