Note: This is only a theory. I will, however, be happy to hear your opinion on this.

I think Jo made it clear that Sirius was dead. Yes, very sad, but it looks like it's true. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) I don't think he's going to come back.

Sirius isn't dead, he's just on the other side of the veil. Okay, now, a doorway isn't deadly. I once fell through a doorway when it was three o' clock in the morning and my dog needed to go out and I couldn't see and I tripped over my dog's leash. I fell down the stairs (wheeeeeeeeeee!)and I have to admit I DID get dizzy, but not killed. Then I wouldn't be posting here! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laughing.gif)

We really don't know what is beyond the veil so whether or not Sirius is dead is still up in the air. Guess ALL will have to wait to see.

Sirius is dead. Bellatrix is evil to the core. I refuse to even ponder the possibility that Bellatrix is faking it. Not with the things she's done in the past. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/irked.gif)

Now, was the doorway that you fell through a magical one with a magical veil hanging from it? No? I didn't think so! Besides, the doorway that Sirius fell through wasn't an ordinary doorway. I'm pretty sure it's the veil portion that is important here. In that the veil is an entrance to the beyond. Once you pass that, you are trapped in there for the rest of eternity and there is no coming back. Like it is a one-way door and won't open to come back to where you started from. I don't know. This is really hard for me to explain for some reason and I'm sure there is someone out there that could do a better job, but I hope you understand what it is I'm trying to say. Me thinks you said it very well girly. I can't see Sirius coming back, and I can't see JK throwing us a curve like that, though she did recently cause me to lose my cloths for a bit in the future. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Now that I think about it, it's possible that he's not dead, but he can't come back. I think this will serve a purpose in the future. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Maybe Bellatrix was forced to torture Neville's parents through the Imperios Curse!

Besides, if Sirius WAS dead, the veil would've killed him, not Bellatrix. And the veil did not kill him, Bellatrix did not kill him, he isn't dead!

As someone who spent far too long in wishful-thinking land about Dumbledore, I must point out that anything is possible. That said, I'm afraid that the theory is as close to impossible as it can be...

JKR has been very forthcoming about the "death" theme in her stories. One of the main points is as Sir Nicolas said... There is no coming back.

I would love to believe in Sirius coming back, but I don't think so. The veil is not just a veil. Not just a doorway. It is essentially the wizarding world's version of the electric chair...

I'm sorry tealinkea... it's just so incredibly unlikely. But I understand why you hold on to hope.

ya, i understand too. i don't want sirius to be gone, but i think he's gone. and, perserus, i like how you described the veil, "the wizarding world's version of the electric chair" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) that is just a funny, true description. ha ha, i'm laughing so hard right now. but i have to shut up, my sister's mad at me.

I'll admit, it could be a possibility. But in my opinion there is no way. We get the impression from her that when she is hurting someone she is truly enjoying it. There is no holding back nor remorse from her when she is hurting someone. She's not being controlled by the Imperius Curse. She's loving what she's doing. I've got plenty of words to describe her, but the best I can say on here is that she is truly evil to the core. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/darkside.gif)

I'm going to put this up in hopes that maybe you'll see the light:

QUOTE
Cookie246122: Why did you kill Sirius? It made me very sad
JK Rowling replies -> I'm really, really sorry. I didn't want to do it, but there was a reason. If you think you can forgive me, keep reading, you'll find out. [I feel really guilty now].

Now, I'll admit, Jo fibs to us. But she has never lied to us concerning the details of the books. The only thing she's toyed with us about is when she thinks they will be coming out and how far along she is while writing them. Never what is inside them. Sirius is dead. It's plain, simple and fact. If, in book 7, it were to turn out that he would be alive, I would never be able to listen to another word Jo would say cause that would mean that she lied to us and in turn turned me into a liar, which I would be very upset about. I would also be upset about all the hopes I've dashed throughout the years showing people the proof that Sirius is dead to have him reappear. So, with what Jo has said in the past, what was said in the books and my own personal feelings on the subject, I am fully convinced that Sirius is in fact dead and that though he is supposed to reappear, it will not be in the form that we previously knew him in.

I believe that Sirius is dead or if not, he won't come back. I wish that he could come back as much as the next person, but Jo made it so clear that he's dead I can't disagree. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/weeping.gif) I think that Jo killed Siri for him to sort of get out of the way. Harry spent too much of his time thinking of Sirius. I wish there was a better way to say it, but we got to face the facts. Sirius is dead and there's nothing we could do about it. I believe the mirrors may serve a purpose in the future, but Harry already broke it and I don't think the magic will work as well if you just repare it with Reparo. What am I saying? Maybe the magic isn't so powerful, so Harry might find Sirius' mirror, fix his, and this will be how he keeps contact with Ginny! Then he'll have to find a place to hide it! Maybe Harry will find out what DD meant by saying "I can hide you better than you can imagine" or something like that. Then what about where Harry hides Ginny? I got it! Ron becomes Ginny's Secret Keeper, but V finds out and tortures Ron into telling him where she's hiding and this is how Ron dies.

Ok, let me get this straight: First Bellatrix was being controlled and so got sent to Azkaban. Then, when she escaped, she decided to prentend to be loyal to V. when all she really wanted to do was collect information for the Order of the Phoenix. And Sirius and Bellatrix got together and planned the "killing" so that V. would still trust her and that Sirius could escape the Death Eaters.

I see, this could be possible, but I really don't believe in it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I think that Sirius is dead, but I guess it's possible that Bellatrix is good. I don't believe it much, but it's a POSSIBILITY. I can't decide if I think she's evil or good, but I think I more believe she is evil because of the way she taunts Harry and laughs at him. It's so genuine that I think she is acting of her own accord, but I see why you're giving hope and I was full of hope in OotP when Siri died, but after that, it was pretty obvious he's dead.

tealinkea... one question:

Why would Bellatrix push Snape into taking the Unbreakable Vow to kill Dumbledore if she was working for the Order?

Not supporting my own theory here, but is it possible that DD told Bellatrix to do it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) As I said I'm not supporting my own theory, so I think this highly unlikely.
