When Harry, Dudley, Vernon and Petunia met this man to lend them a boat. He was an old man with a toothy grin.
And when Harry was in hogs head he said the barman looked vaguley familiar. Do you think they could be the same person(Meaning Aberfoth)? Or is this another question we are unable to find its answer to? |

That would make sense. It could be possible that Dumbledore had people around Harry for extra protection, ever since he went to the Dursley's. Mrs. Figg was always around, so it would be possible that Dumbledore had Aberforth follow Harry to make sure nothing happened to him. So it could be Aberforth in the hogs head too.

I would be more satisfied with that answer if it said the barman had a toothy grin, also, but I guess he wasn't smiling, so Jo can't possibly have put that down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) There are so many possibility's, like maybe Mundungus or Moody, but I agree that Aberforth is the most likely since the man was at a bar. Maybe it's someone that used to work at a bar, but moved on.

Well, since Harry thought he was quite familiar, the boat man could be Aberforth. It kinda fits. With what carebear139612 said, about Mrs.Figg and everything, Aberforth could be protecting Harry. Or, maybe he's following Harry when he went to the motel and stuff. He could be the one knowing where the exactly he is for the postal addresses to get the letters to Harry. What do you think of that?

Aberforth is the barman in the Hog's head. |

Hmmm...well, it's possible that later on in the books Harry finds out that a man on his street was spying on him.(in the pub and in the boat)
