I think i'v already mentioned this before but anyway since he didn't appear in OoP i'll say it again.
Will we see Nicholas Flamel in book 6? Dumbledore said he had enough Elixer in him to sort out his affairs. Will this include helping in the struggle against the Dark Lord? ^o)

woohoo, i have first topic in this Section :D

It really never said he was dead. It implied he was going to die, he had enough Elixer to get his affairs in order. Now this makes me wonder how long it'll take him to do that.

It implied that he didn't have long, but if the theory holds that DD is actually flamel, well then, getting his stuff in order means ensuring harry is safe, eh? But, I don't actually believe that theory, anyhow. But, if someone has lived for 600 years, either he has A LOT to finish up, or he has already had nearly all the time in the world to have everything completely done (confused yet?).

I wonder . . . did the elixer of life keep one young looking as well? Will he suddenly grow older looking?

i always imagined the elixor of life being similar to the Nine Rings somehow .. Preserving, keeping you only just alive but 'fading' like Bilbo was starting to do ..
But i can also see the elixor giving new found youth, etc etc.
hmm.

I can't go along with that theory, though I really want to. JK said in an interview that DD is around 150 years old. Flamel is way beyond that.

Something I just read...

POA, page 320, US Hardback Edition

QUOTE
One was so ancient he appeared to be withering before their very eyes. Harry gathered they were representatives for the Committee for the disposal of Dangerous Creatures, because the very old wizard squinted towards Hagrid's cabin and said in a feeble voice, "Dear, dear, I'm getting too old for this... Two o'clock, isn't it Fudge?

Now, i'm not saying that this is Flamel, and i'm not saying it isn't. It's just something I came across. <_<

For the most part, they are both pretty much the same. It's mostly just variations in spelling that are different. Like favourite to favorite and colour to color. But, in the UK Edition, Sirius's vault number is given and in the US Edition it isn't. So it does make me wonder if perhaps there are other things that are a bit different.
