Which got you into Harry Potter? Options

Hey folks, Sirius Black here.I was just finishing watching the two movies for the how manyeth times.lol.Anyways, as I was watching, a question popped in my head as the usual.Which got you into Harry Potter: The books, or the movie?What I am trying to say is that, were you a fan before the movies were created?Or started being one WHEN the movies were created?Just curious.Bye!

I remember hearing about Harry Potter, and I had absolutely NO INTEREST in it. "To me, it was The Hardy Boys go to magic school". I listen to audio books at work; it is a great way to pass the time. A friend told me about Harry Potter, and said that he had the first one on audio cassette. He said they were good, and since I had nothing new to listen to, I decided to give Harry Potter a chance. The first book seemed rather straight forward to me, that Snape was the villain. So I only half listened to it, but then she performed the old switcher-roo on me, and I was like oh ok, not bad you fooled me. I applaud you and give you credit. But then I now know how you write and you won't fool me again.

The 2nd book I knew that Lockhart was not the villain, but couldn’t figure out who it was. It was at this point I got into the name analyzation, and they became more interesting to me. I said to myself the diary as the villain, very clever...

The 3rd book, I KNEW immediately that the black dog was Sirius Black, and that Remus Lupin was a werewolf and his boggart was the full moon.

I was hooked after I went through the first book the 2nd time and paid closer attention and started to analyze the names and events a bit closer. Mythology has always been an interest in mine and it has helped me enjoy the books much more.

In a way I compare Harry Potter to the Simpsons. There are 4 levels the Simpsons work on to make it enjoyable
1. A simple cartoon that a child can enjoy
2. You start to recognize the other shows and stories on it
3. You can fully place the shows and start to get some of the satire
4. You can fully comprehend the show, what its deeper meaning is, and who they are trying to make fun of.

1. Harry Potter is a simple story of a boy going to magic school, and you follow the story
2. You start looking for meaning in story and trying to guess what is going to happen next
3. You analyze the names and look for deeper meaning behind the different things going on
4. You post on the boards coming up with your own theories as who is R.A.B. and long winded discussions if Snape is truly good or evil and start backing up your hypothesis with facts and suppositions
