In this game we will start off with one quote. The person who names the speaker of the quote then gets to put up the next quote and so on and so forth. And please don't pick anything that could be anywhere like "Where?" or something extremely simple like that, ok? Ready? I'll start!

Sir Cadogan said that. (I believe to Harry and Ron)

Okay, who said this? Hopefully it's not harder than I thought...

WWWOOOWWWWW!

WWW, I'm gonna get you..big time! 02:lol:

In book one. Mr. Olivander says "I thought I'd being seeing you soon. Harry Potter." I think the words "Harry Potter" are a dependent and descriptive clause and should have been separated by the rest of the words by a comma. The use of "Harry Potter." as a sentence, an interjection in this case, would have necessitated the use of an exclamation point. As a simple declaratory statement it would normally stand alone as a sentence only if Harry had NOT been previously referenced. I am in law school currently and my legal writing leaves a little to be desired BUTTE my son is an English teacher and you can be SURE I will ask him... 02:lol:

Anywho, the addition of those two words (and in my opinion, the correct grammar 02:D ) ..... , Harry Potter would have narrowed it down only a little bit, It would simply have eliminated the times for the most part when the big 3 (Harry, Ron and Hermy) are together. The number of times when you could paraphrase the words "I thought I'd be seeing you soon" are enormous,...Quirrell in Bk 1, Riddle in Book 2, Black in Book 3, Voldemort in Book 4, Sirius at the beginning of book 5, Nick at the end of Book 5, etc.etc.etc....and I had just about RUN THROUGH THEM ALL WHEN I REMEMBERED OLIVANDER...

..whew..

Okay, here's one just for WWW...

Harry to Lockhart after the Bludger attack

Doc, I agree with you. But I'm just writing down what's in the books. I'm not going to alter them at all. I'd be afraid of actually making them harder to find if I were to alter what's written down. I'm sure that everyone else, like myself, are looking for exactly what's written down on the Boards to be in the books. So please, don't jump down my throat. I was just trying to use a quote that could be in about a million different possible places to make it a little bit more difficult. I'll try not to do it again.
