Since our membership is grow it's almost impossible for us to read everything. So if you need a moderator please post it here if you...... Have problems with a Member Notice cursing or rule breaking (We could use your help here) Have a question about the boards Have any question/concern that doesn't pertain to the book Thanks for your help everyone!!! To the mods..... When someone posts that they need help, if you could, after you have taken care of the problem, please delete the question that was asked in here, this way we will know if the problem has been taken care of. Not really reporting a bad thread, just curious as to what happened to a topic I started. Was there a problem with the one I had posted titled "Literal translation of Horcrux" ? Last night there were some great replies about word etymology and neologisms, was just curious where the thread went. I couldn't find it and even doing a search for my topics showed that I currently haven't started any. :( I'm assuming that means it's been deleted.

chances are it got merged into another topic on Horcruxes. I don't know this for sure, but I remember seeing your topic. With all the activity on the board, we are trying to keep the number of new topics down a little by merging them.

Thanks for the info, everyone! I've blocked and banned this guy. I'm sorry you had to see this stuff. We've had a few on the boards in the last few days - it gets crazy like this during book/movie releases. So, if you need us, make sure to let us know asap.
Regarding missing threads, I've merged a lot of threads today. So, you'll see the subject, and I've tried to keep it all together and a bit more organized. This way we don't have people posting their same theory all over the place, and having to search everywhere. 03;) |

I was just wondering. You guys (esspecially baty) are very big on spelling out all your words and not abbreviating.
does this incluse known abbreviations like 'DD', 'LV', 'HBP', etc... just wanted to clarify, because i use those abbreviations alot and i don't want my posts deleted. so i will stop if thats what you guys mean. |

No, we never mind those little HP abbreviations, as long as it is clear who you mean. I think everyone here knows them even if they don't know English as their first language. what molly said is very right. DD, HBP, V... Something like that is ok, but regular words like U and UR and other *normal* words need to be spelled out. Some of us have our little pet quarks and *that* is definitly mine!!! I am now deleting posts when someone has been warned many times.
We all make spelling mistakes, but *those* are not spelling mistakes. |
