indeed. While the locket may have been destroyed by R.A.B., I'm thinking it wasn't. I don't really have any proof... just a hunch.

also, I read in a JKR interview that she would not be introducing anymore highly important characters (or something like that), thus, I too think R.A.B. is Regulus Black. 13B)

Something in JKR's interview that Dijares posted seems to support the Regulus Black/ horcrux locket mentioned in 12GP...

She said that most of her clever readers will have figured out where one is by the end of the week.

What do you think??

After reading the JKR interviews, I have to say that it DOES seem likely that RAB is Regulus Black. However, I am baffled as to how the locket got there unless Mundugus stole it at the behest of Dumbledore. I believe Dumbledore was all knowing so that he arranged for Harry to read the note.

I think we need more specifics as to why Regulus was killed and by whom if not specifically by Voldemort. I wonder if Regulus was killed by Snape who at that time may have been a loyal Death Eater.

Also, I had thought the deaths of Amelia Bones and Emmaline Vance were insignificant as they involved minor characters---merely to show how ruthless the Death Eaters could be. Now, I'm wondering if they are not actually more important to the plot then I had first thought.

just read somewhere that lupin has a brother (although a rumor that jk denies) called Romulus, could this be rab? they could have different fathers and therefore have different sir names... what do you think?

A friend came up with the theory that RAB could be Rastaban and Bellatrix. It was different, so I thought I would throw it out there.

It is an interesting idea that it is two people, but I'm not sure I believe it. Regulas Black just has so much going for him. I mean, he was a DE and there was that heavy locket in the black house in OotP.

And R.A.B. is REALLY ................. REGULUS BLACK 09 :o , Sirus' Brother!

for starters it matches the initals, though we dont know his middle name yet.
Second, though Regulus was killed on Voldie's orders for supposedly getting cold feet, BUT sirus was only guessing at why. Mayhaps Regulus had a change of heart and betrayed his master, thus resulting in his killing.
THIRD and kinda interesting is that when Harry and the rest were waging war on the "Noble and Most Ancient House of Black" they found a gold locket that they couldn't open (pg 116 ootp)

so there is my idea, shoot it down if you can : )

Just a thought, but I wonder, does anyone else think that Regulus may have died trying to destroy the Horcrux?
Sirius didnt know all the facts about his brothers death and could only guess And we know even DD had a hard time destroying the Horcrux.
Now DD is the best wizard around - SO if he has found it hard, imagine how Regulus would find it?
Maybe he died trying to destroy it but LV just took the credit? Or it was assumed, with him being a DE?

Not sure if this is in the right part of the board 06<_<

It has occured to me, a new theory for what RAB would have a connection to Aberforth as iv been saying from the very beginning. I strongly believe that it does not stand for Regulus Black, its for Aberforth.

But you wander how it fits in...well consider this. Aberforth, Dumbledore's brother both share the same last name. Dumbledore. And we all know that Dumbledore means Bumblebee. So, put in the equation of RAB which would give you...R Aberforth Bumblebee.

I dont know what R would stand for yet, but my A and B to me, do sound correct. So thats just my opinion, let me know...

I don't know. I never have been much of an Aberforth supporter. It could be, but I just prefer Regulas. It's an interesting theory though, I wouldn't deny that.

OK, far-fetched, but possible-Rosmerta? I mean it's just one initial, but think about. It is possible that Malfoy controled her mind and then made her do something that he wanted her to do, but also she could've possibly done it on her own. What if the lightening stuck tower is where Rosmerta died because she was faithful to LV? OK, really far-fetched, but still it's possible, right?

i just re-read Order of the Pheonix, and i can assure you, that RAB is NOT amelia bones. Her third name is susan, and it says so in the pages.
