About a year ago I wrote a letter to EA Games cc Warner Bros for my two sons and about ten of their friends suggesting that they make a "Fred and George's Hogwarts Adventure" kinda game. Basically it states in one of the books that Filch knows the secret passages around inside and out of Hogwarts better than anyone aside from Fred and George Weasley, so that got the kids thinking - wouldn't it be fun to take arguably the coolest parts of the HP games (the secret passages) and make it into a mischevious romp throughout the grounds, in and around and all through - even out into Hogsmeade - sneaking up on people and basically getting points for finding things, springing traps and just generally being Fred and George. maybe it's a game aimed more at the teen market since it is openly promoting a certain amount rule breaking and mayhem, but hey, what's more fun than good natured joking around combined with sneaking through secret passages???

Does anyone else think this would be a cool game??

Wow, I've never thought about that! Could be useful, having more wheezes like the Umbridge business around here 02:D 04:P Maybe we should get the Catherine Wheel's children to mate and then the Wheel would become a grandparent (remember the mating [collision] and the sprouting piglets?)! I would like a better one 01:)

I haven't been overly impressed with any of the HP games so far, but that one could certainly be a gooden.

What did you have in mind, Doc? you mean work up our own idealized game or organize the people from this board to send some kind of by-popular-demand petition to EA Games and Warner Bros or something?

They are quite a lot of fun if you like the subject matter. There are some arbitrary scenarios and gaming challenges, but mostly it follows the script in a general sorta way. There are some very difficult challenges (like fighting LV aka Quirell oround the spinning Mirror of Erised in the very first PC game). That one had lots of cool passages to find etc., as have most of the others.

Also there are a couple of very cool cheats (like "Harry Super Jump") where you can actually jump above the fractal world of Hogwarts to find some hidden magical secrets . .. . I'll have to say they have been some of the most magical and alluring games I've ever played with my sons!

For what game is that cheat? For all games (PS/SS, CoS and PoA)? And for PC or PS2 (PlayStation 2)? Never thought about cheats to the HP-games... 02:lol:

hold on and I will get you the details from my boys - we played the first two games SS and CoS on the PC and for those there were some very fun workarounds. I'll give you some good specifics (might take till tomorrow or weekend to get it put together properly - but well worth it.

There are a few things like this for the LOTR PC games as well. One I must tell: right at the end Aragorns sword turns into a bloody great mackerel (at the water falls after Gollum miss-leads you!) That Mackerel which comes with instructions like "don't be a stooge for The Man" and such tidbits, reALLY packs a punch - no troll or orc can stand before it - not even on swat . . . their down! ha ha

It wouldn't seem like a very long game since it's just basically pulling pranks and finding secret passages, but it could work! I would definitely be interested in buying it!
