My favorite is definately Lupin, but I think that both Lupin and Moody were good teachers, just in differfent ways. I think Lupin could relate to his classes more though. But Moody had a lot of experiance with what he taught. But if it comes down to who my favorite is, its Lupin all the way. After all, Moody was a death eater in disguise.

My favorite is definitely Lupin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I can't really say if Moody was a good teacher because Moody never taught them, so I's have to say the best and favorite was Lupin.

I think I agree with just about everyone that Lupin was the best teacher, but although Moody never got around to teaching at Hogwarts, Barty Crouch actaully taught the class something and he did help Harry out, ie learning how to resist the imperius curse etc. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Mine's probably Mad-Eye, just because he's a crazy dude and he never ceases to suprise and entertain. Plus, he taught Harry so much that he used later on, such as defying the imperius curse. Well, actually it was Barty Crouch Jr. which makes him all the better in my opinion... a death eater benifitting his master's greatest enemy? That's pretty much amazing. So yes, Mad-Eye/Barty C. Jr. is my favorite DADA teacher so far.
Well, Lockhart was pretty cool too.
Quirrell just kinda creeped me out.
Lupin rocked! He's my 2nd favorite.
I hated Umbridge more than anything.
And Snape... I don't even think about him in that teaching position.

Lupin was the best kind of teacher. His patience and his focus taught Harry to learn in ways that helped him teach those around him later. Lupin as a secondary god-father was also benefical to Harry even when he himself was falling apart. This kept the tutorial going. Most of the Mad-eye / Crouch education benefitted Harry in that it introduce him to the worst that he would face. Understanding the Unforgiveables was an advantage that he might not have been exposed to late. However, as a teacher all Harry learned from him was to never assume. This is also true of his relationship with Snape and Quirrell. As for Umberidge I think Harry learned the face of true evil was not just Voldermort, but those who try make wrong seem right.
