Ok, not so much as a Harry Potter topic just in general.
People can just post what they are currently reading ..

Currently Reading

David Morrell - Burnt Sienna

Quite a 'simple' book, easy going, not too bad. It's about a painter (ex Soldier :o!, not a likely combination) who is payed to paint an Arms Dealers' wife. Is roped into it by a CIA buddy of his and it's up to him to 'save' her and find as much info on the Dealer while he's there.
Not too bad.

Also, re-reading OotP, really starting to grow on me .. more so with each reading.

Just Finished

Nelson Demille - Up Country

Amazing, about a Vietnam vetran who is now in the 'police' side of the military. Goes back to vietnam to solve a murder inquiry.

I've pretty much read all of Nelson Demille's books and i don't think that there has been any that i've not liked although i didn't enjoy the Talbott Oddessy as much as the others. Excellant author, reccomened. Has quite a bit of history in his books though .. i still like it even though i'm more of a geographer myself.

So, what is everyone else reading??

I'm reading Stephen King's Dreamcatcher now. I bought the book a while ago, saw the movie and now started reading the book. It's a long one though and i'm only 1/4 of the way done. Good so far though! :)

Reading OoTP (at school, I forgot to put it in the car with me!) this weekend I am reading PoA again since it is my only Harry Potter book here.

The most recent book I finished was The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland, this is a GREAT book, I even chose it to write a paper on. Other than that I am reading Catcher in the Rye for my American Lit class.

Haven't posted here in a while, but as good of a subject as any.

I have finished reading

Dan Brown - The Da Vinci Code, which I found to be not nearly as good as the reviews have been. Not that big of a fan to be honest. But a really interesting concept none the less. Probably not a complete waste of my time.

---

I also took a big step back, considering my age, and have read a few of the CS Lewis Narnia books

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

have been as far as I could get... after that the children's writing have made me loose all interest. (there are 4 more books I could read, if I wanted to, but wont)

I find it funny that Harry Potter is compared to CS Lewis, while Lewis's works are soooooo much more childish, both in language and plot. I see no resemblance what so ever. Anyone disagree?

----

I have also read a few of the Hitchiker Trilogy books, and have found they get exponentially worse.

----

Beyond that, I read a lot of Non-Fictional books on engineering. More or less what ever I can get my hands on. PLC's lately

-----

Off topic, but good enough to note, I have been checking out some really old or unknown movies... The Seven Samurai (1954), and Lawrence of Arabia (1962).

I was really surprised that I could like these older classic movies so much. Just incredible. awesome great wonderful, loved them. A++

The unknown movie I found a South Korean movie called spygirl (all in subtitles of course). But good luck trying to find that in blockbuster, because you wont. (It was more than decent)

So far this year I've read The Hobbit and the three Lord of the Ring books about three times, The 5 Harry Potters at least twice and have started yet again.......almost finished book 2. This time I'm reading very slowly and making notes of what could be clues and I can see things a lot clearer than in previous readings. I've also just read the complete Narnia series......Hadley you should finish it.....I'd like to know what you think of the finale.

I am reading Grisham's The Summons. I just finished Angels and Demons, which Dan Brown wrote before DaVinci Code. I like them both, but like Angels and Demons better. Did all of you know that Harry Potter is mentioned in the DaVinci Code?
The best books other than HP I have read recentlyare The Girl with the Pearl Earring and The Secret Life of Bees.

The worst book I have read lately is Andrew Greeley's Bishop in the West Wing. I think the poor man has lost his touch altogether!
