Tom Riddle ran a hand through his hair and leaned against the tall oak tree. He wore a casual expression, his eyes glinting softly in the shadows of the tree. His arms were crossed loosly and his school bag lay at his feet.
There was an air of superiority about him. Students milling across the grounds hurried past, glancing at him admiringly and fearfully. But he ignored them. His gaze swept over the plane of his view. A group of Gryffendors passed in front of him, falling suddenly silent as they neared. Their faces showed contempt and they raised their chins high and avoided his eye. One of the girls, however, stooped low, shuffling behind one of her friends. He glimpsed her face, which was bright red, before a curtain of brown hair fell from her braide, hiding it from view... Oh darn it... it's time for bed!!! I'll write more on Monday or whenever I get around to it... Sorry!!! Tell me if you like it so far... personally I hate it, but that's just me... "I didn't see you at dinner," Slughorn said with concern heavy in his voice. "I'm not hungry," Tom said as casually as he could. A heavy arm drapped over his shoulder and his back screamed in protest. He longed to pull away from the teacher's grasp. "Are you feeling alright m'boy? You look rather pale." Tom bit back a hasty retort. "I'm fine," he replied, "just heading to the library to look up-" "Tom." There was suspision in the man's raspy voice. "It's a spell for charms," he explained, "not-" A scream broke through the halls. He cursed to himself, realizing it might be too late for his escape. "Not again," Slughorn pleaded with nothing in particular as he left Tom and started running down the hall towards the Ravenclaw boy. Taking advantage of the moment, Tom hurried towards the library, hoping to remain unchallenged. His hopes were in vain, however... |
