Knockturn Alley, Hagrid Options

So what was Hagrid really doing down Knockturn Alley.
When Harry said: "I told you, i was lost - what were you doing down there, anyway?"
Hagrid replied pausing in his sentence looking for an excuse.
Hagrid said: "I was lookin' fer a flesh-Eating' Slug Repellent,"growled Hagrid.

I think there is more to this than we think, another excuse for Hagrid being evil.

Exactly, I've always hated the "Hagrids secretly evil!" Theory, you know? I mean why does everything have to be a dang conspiracy? The man probably really did, come just for flesh eating bug repellant, I mean many people do things that are evil, and they might have an evil glow about them, or just seem like the type you'de hate, because their evil attire, or how they act, but if you get to know them, they might be more good, morally, then you are? It's like when you meet a kid that wears all black all the time, or someone that listens to death metal or something, just because they seem evil, doesn't mean that secretly they enjoy the smell of pink roses, or still watches cartoons>?

So in all honesty, I hate that theory, and I believe Hagrid's alaby, though I don't know how to spell that word, haha
