It seems to me that the things Dumbledore is moaning during the drinking of the potion in the cave are memories of other people being tortured. He seems to be reliving these events, including the one from the scene in the ministry where Voldermort is inside Harry torturing him. The words "Kill me know, I want to die..." seem very close to a direct quote of what Harry was saying (though anyone under the cruciartus seems to say that, admittedly).
Appears to be something like the effect of Dementors, only not necessarily your own bad events, but including those of others. Anyone else read it this way? |
